Can't tell from the pic, do those lock in place? I've used the SO locking ratchet and I thought that was great. Never quite understood why all flex heads don't lock in place.

Okay I've had a really crappy day, and that line just made me smile. Line of the day right there.

Used gaffers tape when "blocking" positions -- or where people move to then stop so they're in proper position in front of the camera -- on sets. On some shows, they pull up and save the used tape each week, creating a ball. There's an old story that the nbc crew working on the long running...

I was going to use a couple old slot mags for the garden hoses outside.

Terrible, sorry for your loss. I'd make sure you change any important settings or info on that security system. If they looked through it, they know how it works, default settings, bypasses or master codes (so it wouldn't matter if you put in your own code) etc.

That's always been the box I wanted, if I had the $$ to get one. There've been some on the local craigslist for good prices lately; saw a couple in the $3K ballpark. Saw one for sale for $4,500 from a shop that included tools.

While I do have a 2'X3' metal box with drawers for regular misc. bolts and what-not, I've got another cheap system going. I've got a couple of those gladiator workbench cabinets with the top drawer; each is more or less dedicated to a particular thing. One for bike bits and parts, one for...

They are kind of heavy. Not that, solid heavy feel, but heavy in general. I thought I'd like the handle shape but, in practice, I like my round handled ratchets much better (both SO and old Cman pros with the knurled twisters on top).

The TRE puller I was referring to looks just like the C-shaped pitman arm puller, just smaller. Works the same way...

While I'm sure the high end brands all have something, I took the low brow route and grabbed a TRE and a pitman arm puller from autozone for cheap and they get the job done. I was hoping they'd last the steering job I was doing (they did) and have been pleasantly surprised that they've lasted...
