Starting over... again. 30x40 shop build project = "Sutton Shop"

Just stumbled across your thread.... exciting! Looks good so far. Keep the updates coming. I hear ya about the OWB - that's my delimma, I'm the only one who would feed it, cut the wood, ect. I'd like to have one tho. Who confirmed the house boiler is big enough? Your're picking up about...

LED christmas lights. (I know I'm just asking for it)

If you can't cut 'em, cover 'em. Since you can't simply pull the bulbs out you dont want, use short pieces of heat shrink to cover the unwanted bulbs. then you can coil up/hide the unwanted length easily. The heat shrink is easily removable with knife.

    Drywall to ceiling gap

Curious as to why there is a gap. Must be the builder didn't cut the studs to leave an 8' foot wall?

    Retaining Wall

Cost of block wall varies greatly based on what block you want. I like the look of block walls and the fact that there is a huge choice in styles/colors/sizes. Big difference in quality too from the big box stores and a real stone/hardscape place. True retaining wall blocks have a lip on the...

Electric bill went up from 123.00 to 811.00

    Stationary Genset Install

Wouldn't matter in this case as his main service goes to the house and he wants to feed the generator (back up service ) into the shop's panel.

Preferred method or wiring receptacles/wire strippers

Most quality strippers have holes in the jaws for this purpose as well. In the picture posted earlier, they are the two holes just above the hinge point.

The Heatstick , Does it work or anybody built their own

Imagine the heat gains if you put a running hair dryer in the top of the tube.... LOL So what happens once the warmer air is exited out the bottom of the tube.... it rises right back up to the ceiling - warm air is funny that way, it dosen't care if its pushed down by a ceiling fan or pulled...
