    Log Seats

We just had a huge oak cut down as it was dying. Got lots of firewood from it and saved a few large chunks to make stools around a firepit later on. I'm thinking of coating them with some kind of tree sealant on the bottom and clear coating on top. Have any of you done this? What worked well for...

    Unpopular Opinion - Tool Storage

This has been a challenge for me too. I bought the Ridgid stackers a few years ago & used them about a year. They were usually easy to move around, as I was mostly on hard or paved surfaces. I agree about lack of trays. Large box is great for battery tools & other bulky stuff. Medium one good...

    Poor Attention to Detail

Our department recently got this pressure washer. Supposed to be a good performer, we’ll soon see. I am irritated that the wand holder puts the tip against the front wheel. We can modify it but we shouldn’t have to. I’m not surprised to see junky details on cheap stuff but this is several...

Does anyone else love these old Stanley Leverlock tapes?

I like Leverlock & had a few but had them wear out quickly.

    Disconnect 30 amp dryer circuit?

Keep both for sure. I am an electrician & I can tell you it’s much cheaper todo it now than add it later. As others have said, a future buyer may not want gas; some people are afraid of it. Also true about gas appliances being restricted. Keeping options open is always a good thing.

    Leaf Vac/Mulcher

Really needing a leaf vac/mulcher. Had one years ago by Ryobi, was junk. I'm seeing some Worx models on Amazon that look promising. What do any of you have and like? The vac is mainly to get up leaves from driveway without picking up gravel & flower bed without picking up wood mulch. Thanks for...

    Solution for Lost Pocket Knives

Pretty close to BS-002 but the main blade was more spear point. This one is semi sheepsfoot. It looked a lot like several of the Imperials. I remember the Imperial brand very well. One of our grocery stores in our small town kept a display case of them. I bought various ones of them over the...

Home Depot Online Orders.... Be Careful

I can imagine this. LED flat panels are very fragile. I cracked one getting it into a tight grid a few months ago. Ours were boxed fairly well though. A mere sleeve is no protection at all.

    Solution for Lost Pocket Knives

I once had a Camillus 4 blade scout knife I bought from someone. Great knife but I lost it somewhere. Never saw another one. A lot of companies used to make scout knives. Not sure any do now.

    Solution for Lost Pocket Knives

Now the big challenge. Be sure not to lose the box of them. :ROFLMAO:

Solution for Home Depot Stuff On Upper Rack

I did that once at Wal-Mart, at the ammunition counter. I had pressed service button and asked a few passing clerks to send the right clerk over. 20 minutes later I called the store. Took awhile to get a manager. Someone finally showed up. I remember doing a service call to a Wal-Mart. Our...

Home Depot Online Orders.... Be Careful

Amazon delivered books to our porch, left in open, packaging not weatherproof. Books got soaked. They replaced them, but driver should have taken a few seconds to put the package under the overhang or behind the screen door. Fed Ex delivered us 2 packages, 1 ours, 1 from a supplier in Kansas...

Anyone Seen One Of These Saws Before?

I used to have a similar saw, a Douglas brand by Radiator Specialty Company. Roughly similar handle and blade. Couldn't mount blade sideways but could do top or bottom. It was a standard issue for most of us in the 1970's. We called them keyhole saws then. Sadly, mine got stolen in the 90's and...

    Water Tanks

    Water Tanks

I didn't think so. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but equalization made no sense to me at all. This is a simplified drawing but basically correct. Piping runs about 100 feet out and takes a few 90's too.

    Water Tanks

I’m sure some of you can answer this. I came into wastewater management late in life so I will never be a total master of it. But common sense tells me some guys at work over complicate this particular issue. We pick up 300 gallon totes several times a day & bring them to our station. We pump...

    Craftsman Crown Logo "Carpenter's Knife"

I've had a few Schrade knives along the way, Old Timers. They made a lot of that type. I used one in electrical work for a long time. Sheepsfoot blade is excellent for skinning wire, long blade good for puncturing and general cutting. Smaller blade good for scoring ceiling tiles or drywall...

    Quality of Craftsman sure *****!

Yes, I still have a Craftsman #3 Phillips. It was/is better than most of theirs. I mainly used it on door frames when installing various switches or sensors. One of the few places where #3 screws were common. Occasionally on electrical floor boxes.

    Stihl Chains, Pipe Carrier

I decided to keep the pipe carrier. Chains are still for sale.

    Quality of Craftsman sure *****!

I had a handful of Craftsman stuff from my brother and dad. Just a few basic wrenches and screwdrivers. All were pretty good and others I knew bought mostly Craftsman. I went back in to electrical work in 1995 and bought some stuff at Sears. The Craftsman hacksaw at the time was great and only...
