    Question on Jack Stand Placement

a jack pad usually isn't a flat surface it would have 2-4 smaller sections that actually make contact, if one of those points is supporting the load of the car then yes, you can crack it. i've see it done with diffs and transmissions.

    Question on Jack Stand Placement

unless you put the jack on the pinion flange i don't see it causing your leak. that said, always use a block of wood because most diffs now are aluminum and you don't want to risk cracking it with the steel jack pad. also, there should be a small plastic jack point under the front. unfortunately...

26ga vs 29ga roof once again

Thank you for bringing up another point. i'm assuming all finishes are not the same? i've see some buildings after many years have faded or the finished completely came off. is this due to poor quality? how would i know what i'm getting or am i thinking too much into it.

26ga vs 29ga roof once again

Quick question for you guys. i'm deciding on roofing and siding at the moment and I was pretty set on 26ga figuring a little heavier material would be better until I contacted a local supplier. 1. the colors available depends on the gauge of the material i go with so in order to get the color i...

    Any scissor lift experts?

any opinions on this one? Its from a local company that installs alarms, pretty sure it was lightly used but thats a 3 hour drive for me after i find a rental trailer. sounds like it might need a controller which is 300-800 it looks like. might even be something i can fix...

    Any scissor lift experts?

i've only used Genie but the idea of having specialty of propriety parts annoys me. I usually find those things out AFTER i buy something and need to get parts so i'm glad that was brought up. any little quirks that each brand might have i may never find out as i won't be using different...

    Any scissor lift experts?

Great information guys. United rents is actually where I was seeing most of them come from (on marketplace). BarNone auction is the auction I've been looking at. I don't mind doing some servicing, especially when it comes to safety items, its like a used car, some maintenance would be required...

    Any scissor lift experts?

this is the type of info i was looking for, thank you. i was always under the impression that Genie was one of the best brands but one thing i hate is when brands use proprietary parts. this thing wont get used as much as you guys think it will, once the shop is done its probably going to sit...

    Any scissor lift experts?

that makes sense. it would seem, then, that these don't really "wear out". maybe just hoses and batteries right?

    Any scissor lift experts?

hi, i'm looking to buy a used 19' scissor lift and wanted to see if theres anyone here who can share their experience. mainly looking at Genie (gs-1932) or Skyjack (3219). i've been watching my local auction for a few months and prices are down a little bit right now, i'm assuming because time...

    "Seer numbers for dummies"

Thank you for all the info. I've never hear of hyper heat units until now. it seems like they are for MUCH colder climates if i'm reading right? we don't really get below 40 here and this unit will only supplement the existing central HVAC for this particular room. while i have you all here...

    "Seer numbers for dummies"

So i'm looking for a single room 18k mini split and see that there is a pretty significant price difference between units with higher/lower seer units. For example, an LG 22k 17 SEER2 is $1600 vs a LG 18k 24 SEER2 for $2800. I understand that the 18k would be more efficient but is it really...
