NEW CAPRI EXTRA LONG COMFORT GRIP RATCHETS

They are pretty polarizing. I like them and find that Tub o' Towels clean them up very nicely. They also work well on Milwaukee tools. For people who prefer not to clean their tools before they put them away I suspect they are undesirable. However it doesn't seem difficult for tool companies to...

NEW CAPRI EXTRA LONG COMFORT GRIP RATCHETS

I also need another ratchet like a hole in the head but I'm a sucker for a long 1/4".

    M12 3/8 ratchets

What M12 users need is a second gen right angle impact. Something that can do 200+ lb/ft with a HO battery. I don't think any of the ratchets are going to be 100% up to the task of rusty brake caliper bolts. I find the 3/8 stubby with a HO battery is currently the best tool in the M12 line-up...

Duck Bill & Stork Needle Nose Pliers - Better than regular Needle Nose pliers for Automotive Repair?

Yes, but if they did this then mechanics would buy tools that way then expect their driver to warranty them every single time they did something stupid with them. Perhaps someday Snap-On will be a tool company but as long as they remain a finance company their customer is the franchisee not you.

    Tekton flare Nut Crowfeet

Yes. I picked up the 8-19mm set and added a 22. The satin finish is beautiful. Unfortunately it's not an everyday tool for me so I haven't found a rusty line to try them on yet. I have a Snap-On 18mm I bought a long time ago for transmission lines but the rest were just cheap Taiwan from...

Pretty good flexi O2 sensor wrench?

    I like this guy. https://www.carid.com/schley-products/22-mm-oxygen-sensor-wrench-mpn-67750a.html

    1/4” Flex-Head Ratchets: Matco vs. Snap-On

I know what they call them but I like truth in advertising, that's why I call them Dual-72. Did they need the lower tooth count for strength? Would they be as smooth as 3/8 and 1/2 drive if they had 8 more teeth on the gear? I don't think they are bad ratchets, they just don't feel as good as...

    SnapOn ripoff...

That's interesting. Usually the sets reduce the per item cost, although not very much.

DIYer which mid-torque impact gun to buy?

Why only one is always the GJ answer. But the question was which one first. My answer was 1/2" so you don't need to use an adapter for a 35mm axle nut socket and you can get the high mass crank bolt sockets. Capability first, convenience later. After your 1/2" set is complete then grab the 3/8"...

DIYer which mid-torque impact gun to buy?

I think 1/2” should be the first purchase. 3/8" sets are covering wider ranges due to the increasing performance of the new tools but the traditional 10-32mm 1/2" set plus some axle nut sockets will cover a much larger set of automotive jobs than the 3/8". The same is true with fractional sizes.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

I bought some lights because I already had the batteries but it turned out my Astro lights are way better for automotive work. Perhaps if I did construction I would like the rocket or tower lights. As far as batteries I like the HO 6.0s as the sweet spot. I don't think the 8 or 12s are worth...

    1/4" Impact Sockets: Use Case?

I am very curious how the nano E-Torx ended up with the smallest sizes in 1/4" drive. Everything else is either 3/8" or 1/2". I resisted buying that set for a long time because I don't own a 1/4" impact.

    1/2” or 3/4” impact wrench?

We should add that 3/4" drive sockets are considerably more expensive than 1/2".

    1/4” Flex-Head Ratchets: Matco vs. Snap-On

This is a great write up. The only thing I will add is Snappy does not make a long 1/4” in locking flex. That's how I ended up with my Matco in the first place.

    1/4” Flex-Head Ratchets: Matco vs. Snap-On

I'm with Fed. I love Dual-80s but the 1/4" Dual-72 (as it should be called) just isn't as nice. I went with Matco for long 1/4" and I enjoy both the locking mechanism and the ratcheting action. I wish Snappy would get their act together in 1/4”.

    Combo/ratcheting reccomendations

This is the way to do it. Buy a commonly used smaller (cheaper) size in all the options you are considering so you know how they feel in your hands. We're all a little different and what one guy loves another might find uncomfortable.

    Combo/ratcheting reccomendations

Toptul is excellent for the money so is Tekton although I wish they sold a long pattern. If you want USA, I really like Williams. I'm sure they are more expensive now than when I bought mine but so is everything else. They are thick in the beam and feel great to use. Moving farther up-market...

Tekton: New Wall Hanger Wrench Organizer

Well sure, but if you are on GJ you should have a much larger wrench size selection than that, in stubby, long pattern, ratcheting, angle, crowfoot, etc.

Tekton flare crow foot just released...

Yeah, I'm sure I'm going to end up with the full set eventually. That's what I did with the angle wrenches.

    Opinions on bi-directional scan tools

The Ethos Edge will be cheaper updates than a Solus or Modis but won't have service info. I started with an Ethos tech before I got my Solus Edge. It looks like Ethos updates are $817.
