    Let's see your toolbox.

The left hand combination would be perfect for me. I have never seen a Menard's but sure would like to see them in person.

Looked at Knipex and Channel Locks Today

I stopped by Lowes after reading another thread on pliers and looked at the selection of Knipex and Channel Locks. They both seemed to be high quality with the finish going to Knipex. I was surprised but the price is pretty close for similar tools. I was also hoping to see a variety pack for a...

    Picky A$$hole or what?

^^^ either is preferable to PROLLY :wtf: I also have a lengthy project thread on another forum and thank God for the ability to edit my posts even months later. I sometimes read what I post and find some pathetic mistakes and think, wtf, people probably think I am an idiot for typing that...

    Picky A$$hole or what?

I proofread and still make stupid mistakes. Grammar errors do not bother me too much but run-on sentences without paragraphs are hell to read. Picking out grammar errors in a post bitching about grammar is funny as hell :bounce:

Got a replacement ratchet from sears last night

Absolutely! The key to winning in retail is this, "the customer is always right". Be nice, be respectful, the kid (typically youger people) at the counter are simply following the rules and have no personal stake in the job except keeping their job by following the rules. I worked retail for...

Ya'll like the plain old combination Gearwrench?

I was given a SAE combination Gearwrench set years ago and then bought a complimentary Metric set. I was a little disappointed when I realized they are MIC but continue to use them on a regular basis. I have yet to break one and find myself grabbing a Gearwrench more often than my raised panel...

    30x40 shop stick vs pole

If you are not limited by Code or HOA BS, I would kick the subcontractor off the project. It is not what he wants to build, it is what you a paying him to build.

    Teamchevy's Garage/Shop Build

Since you used gyp bd on the ceiling but OSB on the walls, I am guessing the OSB is for durability, do you plan on a layer of gyp bd on the OSB and T&F?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I received my American Scale No. 4 yesterday, I am a little disappointed in the condition. This side looks ok but there is pretty large chunk out of the jaw on the other side, the screw threads are very worn where they first emerge from the static side and the jaw inserts are trashed. I should...

Made in Japan - Craftsman Impact Wrench

Thanks, I did find the parts diagram at Sears. What is "ok quality", is that better than the current Chinese imports, equal to the IR231?

Made in Japan - Craftsman Impact Wrench

Howdy, I have a Craftsman impact wrench, Model 875-188840 that my Grandfather bought me back in the early 80's. My Google search and Garage Journal search did not turn up anything on this model. It is still working but may need to torn down, inspected and cleaned. Can ya'll give my any...

    Kobalt Jacks at Lowes

Since Made in USA is rare, the Chinese should study up on Taiwan. My Taiwanese 2.5T floor jack lasted about ten years and I used it a lot, I would say heavy use for a home hobbiest including rotating the tires on all my vehicles including 3/4T Dodge Cummins 4x4's. I have had two Chinese 3-4T...

Coffee you're drinking in you garage?

I start out the day with 2-3 double shot espresso's with milk foam courtesy of Ms Silvia. If I am feeling wore out and I happen to go home for lunch, I'll grab another double shot. I agree with the everyone praising the french press, it's probably the best best method to brew non-espresso...

    My Grandpa's Columbian 04M2 Refinish

I went to Lowe's last night and they wanted 11.87 for a piece of 1/4" by 3/4" aluminum so I decided to see if i had a piece of aluminum angle in the scrap pile. I found a piece of 3/16" angle so I cut a strip from one leg on the table saw and made two jaw inserts to replace the trashed...

    My Grandpa's Columbian 04M2 Refinish

I brought my Grandfather's Columbian 04M2 vise home after he died in 1995 and rarely used it. Mostly it sat in a file cabinet or in my welding tote until I built a welding table a few years ago. I never mounted it correctly and when I needed it I just used c-clamps. I moved and it sat in storage...
