    Compressor - Auto drain

I mounted my electric drain valve remotely, up on the side of the compressor, and ran a 1/4" OD air line from the bottom of the tank, up to the valve. Another length of air line runs from the exhaust port of the valve into the drain. I figured that this made more sense than mounting the valve...

AIR LINE DRYERS OR FILTERS....What are you using??

I have the previous model of this... http://www.airtek.com/ftp_only/zdhht.pdf Mine is rated @ 26 CFM, and has 1" pipe connections. The "high inlet temp" is why this was recommended to me, and I also have a 2 stage compressor that cuts off @ 175 PSI. It cost a LOT more than the HF version, but...

Show me your ceramic/porcelain tiled floors. Good? Bad? Ugly? experiences?

Here's a picture from outside...... The black one is a 2010 2SS/RS M6, and the blue one is a '71 Z-28/RS with some non-stock equipment. Not the best picture, but one of the few that I have with these 2 together.

Show me your ceramic/porcelain tiled floors. Good? Bad? Ugly? experiences?

We put porcelain tile in the enclosed garage portion of the shop. This area is only for parking, and I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. Cleans up easily, and reasonably priced at around $2.00/sq. ft.

Spray Paint Or Roll Paint OSB!!

They're not as sharp as they look in the photos. I had some leakage under the tape. I did use a good quality masking tape from the Sherwin Williams store, and did spend a fair amount of time applying it. I just shot the line with a laser level, and away I went. Thanks Ben. We just got...

Spray Paint Or Roll Paint OSB!!

This is what we did in our 56' X 72' X 16'...... Very pleased with the results.... I used Kilz oil-based primer first, and it didn't take as much as I thought it would. I think I used around 25 gal. Top coat is Sherwin Williams ProMar 200. A latex gloss finish, and it even took less than...

    Cordless Drill Repair

Thanks for the info on the battery repair/replacement. I'll check out the cells, and see if that's the issue. This is my 2nd "Professional" series of drills, and I'm very pleased as to how they held up to the abuse that I've given them. I'm not giving up that easily.

    Cordless Drill Repair

Thanks for the advice. That's kind of what I was thinking, but just wanted some assurance. I looked at the new Craftsman models, but wasn't too impressed. Maybe they are great, but I did like the looks & feel of the Milwaukee a little better. I've had good luck with the Craftsman Pro units, but...

    Cordless Drill Repair

I have a 4 year old Craftsman Professional 18 volt drill that was working fine. I believe that the batteries are shot, but don't want to spend $70.00 per battery to find out that the drill has issues also. I think that leaving the batteries on the charger continuously has damaged them. I just...

    Steel Liner

Ben, I was actually riding around in the "White Pigeon" neighborhood a few weeks ago, but I didn't see anything that looks like what you have described as your place. I didn't want to just start knocking on doors, although that wouldn't have taken too long.:) It sounds like you're making some...

What was the thickest steel you've cut with a Milwaukee metal saw?

That's a good idea!! That's a nice job, and you are right. That saw is the best thing to do that. Come on though. That last picture. Not a single thing out of place!!!

What was the thickest steel you've cut with a Milwaukee metal saw?

That is a nice video. It shows the benefits of the "cold cut" metal saw. All I can say is that my Jepson would have cut through that same piece much quicker than the standard "made for wood" circular saw. I don't know why, but it cuts steel as fast as a normal saw cuts lumber. Blades are...

What was the thickest steel you've cut with a Milwaukee metal saw?

I've had a Jepson brand saw for 6 years now, and use it all the time for all thickness metals. It cuts angle just fine. Sheetmetal is hard on the blade. (vibration.) We used it to cut 8' of 1 1/8" plate. That took a while, but made a nice smooth edge. I'll use this saw any chance I can vs...

    Finished apartment in pole barn?

We utilized 3 walls of our building, and did things a little differently. You can't see them very well in the picture, but we put a 2" X 12" on the face of the posts, and another behind it, between the posts. We then blocked under both of them to hold the load. We used steel Z purlins for...

Anyone ever rented an articulated boom lift?

These folks are great to deal with... http://www.iltruck.com/articles.php?a=8 Click on the "Online Rental Guide" for their pricing. They don't show one as large as the one in your link, but you should be able to get an idea as to what it will cost.

    My Camaro Haven

Looks good!! Nice choice of cars to fill it also! Both are one of my favorite colors. With that powerplant in the '92, I hope you updated the differential. The old 7.5" won't take much abuse. You have about twice the amount of room that we used to have to work with, but you deal with what you...

    New 60'x140' Shop!!

You're welcome!! I know exactly what you're going through. Same as you, we're only doing this once, so we really "let it roll!" I've had the opportunity to visit many shops in the past, and have always looked at, and asked a lot of questions. I learned a lot of "must have" suggestions, and...
