    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Love the look of these two. They look like small Leonbergers.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

All I need is an excuse... This was Trooper. Shepard/Bloodhound mix. Was found dumped and dying in the Everglades. Weighed 60 lbs. His normal weight was 110 lbs. Lived to be 16 and still going strong until a brain tumor got him. He's been gone 3 or 4 years and I still can't shake him. This is...

    Generator Question Inverter or not?

I had that problem. I just installed a couple tandem breakers and problem solved.

A Few Champion Generators on sale at Amazon

Same thing they did a few months ago. I showed it to a co-worker and he picked up a 2500W inverter. I decided I wanted a second one like that, that I could parallel with the other one I had. By the time I went back they had gone back up in price but still better than usual price so I got it...

Protecting generator from rain/snow during use

Two different approaches for me. My two car garage is full of machines so there's nowhere in the garage to keep it. Besides I wanted my wife to be able to get it up and running easily by herself if I wasn't around. She works from home and needs power and internet. So I built a gen shed for it...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Anybody who has owned Huskies (and I use that word loosely) knows you don't own Huskies. You coexist with them as part of their pack :sneaky:

Need Carburetor for a Generac OL3116 Engine

I'm farther south and west of you in Florida. I'm with you, the dual fuel is the way to go. I don't have access to natural gas. But I only run the generator on propane. Less maintenance in the fuel department. And definitely better than trying to find gas after a hurricane.

I apologize. I meant to hit the sad face and hit like instead because I'm stupid😖 That is a good, long life for a mastiff.

Getting Kids Interested in the Garage/Tinkering/Fixing/Wrenching

Well, I'm glad to see there are still schools with shop classes. I thought they were all gone. Here, there is a tech school. But most of the classes are like construction management, etc., not actual construction work. About the only real hands on classes are for welding. Glad to see so many of...

Getting Kids Interested in the Garage/Tinkering/Fixing/Wrenching

I'm told I'm really good with kids, which is funny because I don't have any. Never wanted them. But I know why I'm good with them. Because I can do all the fun stuff with them, then give them back to mom and dad when they get cranky. I've had 3 - 10 yr old girls building a horse corral for...

    Horizontal surfaces ie junk collectors

It has always driven me nuts at work. Every horizontal surface gets covered with ****. I used to clean them up. Then they just get covered again. I'm learning to just let it go. And if I need a space, everything just gets pushed to the side or on the floor. Funny thing though, nobody ever asked...

    So When Your Wife Asks...

We both work so it really is "our money". It started when we got our first house. We wanted an entertainment center but didn't see anything we like in the price range we wanted to spend. At the time I was running a race car team (running, not owning), no wood working experience. She said, "Why...

    Joist Hangers

That's the easy part. You'd be surprised how crazy it gets with all the different hardware, connectors, hold-downs, etc. I'm not a contractor, I work for a building supply place. We don't sell lumber, doors, or windows. But we sell more Simpson-Strongtie than anyone else in the area. That's our...
