Welding a base to a motor

Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been online for a couple days. I've done MIG and TIG before but prefer MIG. Just clean off all the paint and plug weld one hole at time. Then hit it with a wet rag to cool it and move to the next hole. There is a a bunch of mass in the laminations to soak up...

Welding a base to a motor

I've done exactly the same three times to replace a Unisaw motor. Worked fine each time. Cut off the old, cut off the new motor plate, weld on the original.

Bought Bridgeport Clone - Now Getting it Set Up for Basic Machining

As others have said, I would choose any of the bridgeport clones over a mill/drill. My choice of all shown would be the Supermill. It has square ways, not dovetail which I prefer. I have five "bridgeports", three are actual and two are Chinese/Taiwan square way clones like the Supermill. All...

    Show your new tool arrivals

The bits look like 4mm wing shank drive screwdriver bits. You can buy them from Vessel, Whia, and others. They should have some on Amazon. What matters is if the round portion is around 4mm.

Recent Habitat grab . couldn't pass it up

Here's the factory manual that comes with the tool. No a ton of info but it does give the torque adjustment procedure. https://airtoolpro.com/template/catalogs/PT040-T6000-S10S_2051462294_User-manual_2050505633-04_C-Desoutter-Pulse-Tools.pdf

Recent Habitat grab . couldn't pass it up

Yes, it is. It is actually a Desoutter tool made by Atlas and rebranded as a CP. Atlas Copco has owned CP since the mid-80's and they also own Desoutter. It isn't a simple impact. It is actually a hydraulic pulse tool. It has a pulse unit cushioned by hydraulic oil instead of a simple steel...

Making an oil drain extension tube for a Honda GX feasible?

Flexible hoses like shown are common on small engine applications. All my zero turn mowers have come with them from the factory. It allows oil to drain easily without running all over the frame. Also a rigid tube extension will tend to vibrate and eventually fatigue either the tube or the...

Who makes the Mac tools hand soap?

Ask for a MSDS sheet, it should list the manufacturer if it isn't Mac. I looked on their website and didn't find one but the driver should be able to get one.

6” Swivel Casters @ Grizzly $3.25 ea --NOW RAISED TO $8

Their info is kind of screwed up. My son ordered 16 and his shipping confirmation showed three boxes and three tracking numbers but he actually received two boxes each. Same for me. The boxes weighed 48 pounds each according to the tags. He ordered his an hour before me and had them in two...

    Sheet rock finish

They sell spray cans of texture. You can get them at Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, etc. It's not the best way to do it but if you don't have a texture hopper gun it is the next best option.

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

I have a big paved drive area like yours at my place in Northern Wisconsin. We get a lot of snow there. I use a 42" Manplow and it works great. I push everything to the outer edges and then just make 1 or 2 passes around the perimter edges with the snowblower. Keeps me from having to double or...

    $48,000 Snap-On Socket Set?!?

Whenever we need large sockets we usually look to Gray Pneumatic. We get much better pricing than Snap-On and they hold up just as well. I believe they go up to 8" hex in 2-1/2" square drive. We've also bought Ozat and they hold up well also plus they have 3-1/2" square drive.

ls this NOCO Boost Plus GB40 1000 Amp boost starter worth having?

I have a GBX45 that I carry on the snowmobiles in case we have a dead battery. I have had to use it three times this year and it worked great on that small engine, even at below zero. I have also used it on a 5 liter V8 a few times with no problems. I think this is the second winter with it...
