    Magna tools

My company used to give these away at Christmas. If I remember Magna was one of the brands owned by the Primark Tool Group. They had DML blades and several other commercial woodworking consumables. We haven't dealt with them for several years and I have no idea if they are still in business...

Knurling on head of rivet nut

That's not the same type of tool I was talking about. The Sherex you referenced is a rocker trigger tool that uses the threads on the mandrel to pull, compress and seat the riv-nut. This is ok for limited use but over time the mandrels will wear or gall sticking the riv nut onto the mandrel...

Knurling on head of rivet nut

My company sells hydraulic riv-nut tools and they do leave the serrations or impressions shown after install. The nose piece is like that shown. These tools run the mandrel in at a high speed and when seated they pull to seat the nut similar to a pop rivet tool. They then reverse to back out...

US General 44" Box Owners... Full Extension Drawer Slides?

I bought two of the 44" boxes 2-3 years ago. One had full extension slides and one didn't. I caught it when I opened them for inspection before loading. When I asked the manager about it he said there were actually two different versions with unique ordering numbers. He also said there were two...

Fireball Tool Hardtail Vise - The Best Vise On The Market???

I ordered mine on 09/22/21 and the email I received after asking the status said they expected my order to ship "March/April of next year" Most likely I will not buy the Taiwan made vise as my understanding was I put a deposit on an American made product.

    Apple Scratter

I haven't made one of those but I did use a washing machine to make cider many years ago. It was easy and worked well. I got the idea from the Mother Earth News in the early 80's.

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

I bought two 44" cabinets in early 2020 for $399 each. When they came in one had a forklift dent in the back and they knocked $50 off each for an even better deal.

Good luck. With the set screw holders if the tool turns slightly it cams the set screw so tight you can't get it loose. I've had to drill the set screw out with carbide to release the broken tool.

When I have crashed and stuck set screw type end mill holders they usually stick well. I've used heat to expand the holder and give a little relief on the set screw. That little bit of expansion is just enough. I have a friend that uses shrink fit tooling and his induction heater works well to...

Screen roller tool always in machinist toolboxes?

I always had a small roller but not a screen spline roller. Mine was about an inch wide and it was used to seal stainless steel foil pouches used when heat treating air hardening tool steel.

Any experience with Tapping Arms/Tapping Machines?

Yes, Abom's setup is one of the largest they offer. It's a beast. Flexarm likes web influencers, maybe you need to make some youtube videos and get a free unit yourself. :)

Any experience with Tapping Arms/Tapping Machines?

With the flexarm you can use pneumatic for smaller taps. 1/2" or 9/16" is a small tap and can be easily ran with their air motor. You can buy a depth control option which uses a depth rod to reverse the motor rotation and back out the tap. You can also use the clutch tap holders instead of the...

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

The cast iron grid platform looks like a lapping plate. Its used for creating very flat surfaces on cast iron or most often granite inspection surface plates. You charge it with lapping compound which is either silicon carbide abrasive or diamond depending on the plate you're lapping. You then...

    Hows Kokens warranty policy?

Exactly. The camera/electronics industry has had a gray market policy for decades for all the reasons listed above. There are many examples of items being bought off Amazon and warranty coverage denied because they weren't bought from an authorized vendor. Distribution structures are set up...

    Hows Kokens warranty policy?

I can't believe almost nobody understands that Koken-USA is NOT the same company as the Japanese manufacturer Koken. Koken-USA is simply a retailer of Koken products, they are not the manufacturer. And the OP did NOT buy this "defective" socket from this retailer. He bought it from an Amazon...
