Picked up a Catepillar 9U-6635 1/4" Drive Ratchet

It was described as a CAT 9U-6635 Ratchet. It doesn't say CAT on it anywhere. Does anyone know for sure if it is a CAT ratchet made by Snap-on? It looks like Snap-on and the markings in the center read "9U-6635 USA." The mark between the ON and OFF switch means "1996" in the Snap-on codes. Thanks!

    My Snap-on FV71 and Schwinn N8231

Almost identical. One faceplate is blued and one is polished. The markings are reversed ... both are on opposite sides. One marking is raised and the other is not. I love the military rats and had to get a Schwinn to go with it!

My Herd of Snap-on Stubby 3/8" Drive Ratchets is Growing!

I made the FK720 into a Quick Release ratchet (older post) and just added a F710AK to my collection. Anyone know of any other variations of these stubby ratchets that I am missing? I really like the older ones. Should the no date ratchet have a date?

Williams Standard Set No. 21-R Cleaning Help

A wet rag got the dust. I am debating using some acetone on a Q-Tip to loosen up the paint. Maybe I show leave it alone. Any suggestions? Thanks. Funny thing: The set was missing a ST-1230 socket (15/16), so I searched on Ebay. I found one and realized I was the seller. Unbelievable!

    1944 Snap-on 71-10 Ratchet

I just picked this up last week and I wanted to make sure that this is not an "Industrial Finish" before I start cleaning it up. Any recommendations on how to clean it up would be appreciated. For chrome ratchets, I usually use Purple Power and a brass toothbrush.

    Snap-on TM70 BE Ratchet

I just picked up a Snap-On TM70 BE Ratchet. I have seen TM70, TM70 A, TM70 B, and TM70 C. I had never seen the "BE" variation. Is this one rare or at least uncommon?

Are these Two Snap-On Ratchets Military?

The SV-71 must be military because of the "V." But what about the GS-71? Why was a "G" stamped onto the frame?

Differences Between the J H Williams S-50 vs S-50A Ratchets

I know the handle has a capital "A" stamped on the handle. Are there any other differences? I would think it would be an upgrade of some sort. Here is my S-50.

    Snap-On MV71 Screw Stuck

I bought a Snap-On MV71 on eBay that has a stuck screw. I have soaked it in WD-40 overnight and Kroil overnight. Still no luck. I think the next step is to drill out the screw head. Any suggestions?

Can a stubby Snap-On ratchet be converted to Quick Release?

Can any of the Stubby Snap-On Ratchets like F710BK, F710K, FK720, or FK720A be converted to Quick Release with a Snap-On Repair Kit?

    Snap-On MV71 ... which is older?

I was wondering if anyone knows which style came first? I am pretty sure we cannot date them. Mine is the first one.
