    HVLP for automotive

I'm going to be replacing rockers on my Chevy in the not to distant future. I do not plan on painting frequently, but have an appreciation for decent tools that I will not outgrow, and am not opposed to buying quality first time around. So I am looking for a good HVLP sprayer capable of taking...

Complete Tool Set for 17yr old

My son is signifigantly younger than yours, I am slowly piecing together a set of tools for him as well. But I am focusing on snap on sets. Screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches. I grab repo's from my local rep. Sets, from retiring mechanics, and marketplace, offerup, and craigslist. If it's a...

    Soft Start on HVAC?

I have a microair unit and it completely eliminated my light flicker, it also allows my eu7000 generator to start the central a/c easily even while on eco mode. I would also add, the folks at microair are amazing to deal with. The customer service is second to none.

    General snap-on questions

Snap on tools, the make or break is going to be the dealer if you plan on buying new. A good dealer maintaining reasonable stock is able to warranty anything on the spot no questions asked. They will provide "good deals" to "good customers" If you don't have a regular dealer then you are...

    498 air hammer

Thanks everybody. I need the trigger control, not limit on the max. I need the power of the 498 and use it just about daily. I'm going to plan on wearing this tool out and in the mean time look into a cp717 or an atlas copco as a replacement

    498 air hammer

I've had an Astro 4980 air hammer for a little over a year now and have a few questions; Can I rebuild / change the trigger valving for better trigger control? Does the CP717 have more trigger control? Is there another .498 air hammer with better trigger control? Perfectly happy with the power...

    Help with small engine

Skip the compression gauge and go right to a cylinder leak down gauge. These small motors typically have compression release tabs on the exhaust cam lobe that will not let you get an accurate reading. You want to know where the leak is by putting pressure into the cylinder, then listen at the...

    Help with small engine

If its popping out of the carb the first 3 things that come to mind would be; your ignition module is no good causing off time spark, your valves are not adjusted correctly or you have a leaking valve. I'd start with a leak down test, and move on from there.

    Best solder for automotive wiring?

I advocate for solder when making harness repairs 9 times out of 10. Proper crimping has its place for sure, especially when installing pins for connectors. But, your argument of factory vehicle application does not hold water in my opinion. Automotive companies crimp because it is faster /...

Looking for feedback on first "true" box - The great debate between HF, HD, ET, SO, and more!

If you want the buy once cry once, sit back and watch market place and craigslist for awhile. Wait for a used KRL or Epiq of your liking to show up and go get it. Don't pay truck prices for a box if you don't have to. Definitely don't get a HF box if you think you want a Snap on. The other...
