    LED overhead lights in shop

Driver converts AC to DC or DC to DC (regulated current). You can also search POE (Power Over Ethernet) for DC fixtures (but that's expensive).

The 4ft LED retorfit bulbs have internal drivers. Most operate on 120-277VAC. No idea what the ballast compatible bulb voltage is, but they still have an internal driver.

    LED overhead lights in shop

Most fixtures use constant current drivers, but you can use much less popular constant voltage.

    LED overhead lights in shop

Emergency light fixtures are designed to provide adequate egress lighting only = average 1fc at floor. Good workshop lighting = 93 fc @ 30" workplane. FWIW, if the battery output is 3.6V, then that is likely the voltage the LED arrays are design to operate at. Connecting the LED arrays to 12V...

    lighting placement + fans!

snorky18 - OP did mention dropping fixtures below fans to reduce strobe effect - which does work, but fixtures would need to be mounted to avoid movement and as fixture mounting height is reduced, so is spacing criteria. Drop the fixtures down to 16' and fixture to fixture spacing should not...

He better get a dimmer if he adds more fixtures. The ones he has are 30,000 lumens ea. Though more fixtures would fix the spacing issue in his plan. Max fixture spacing for 18' ceiling is around 18' (fixture center to fixture center).

POE Lighting? Are we there yet?

Is that sarcasm? $135 for 2300 lumens isn't exactly a bargain.

mas8849 - Visual tool settings are stored locally, so posting a link doesn't allow me to see what you see. Fixture you selected is too wide. try this one (ignore the 3000K CCT - that has no impact on layout) http://www.visual-3d.com/tools/PhotometricViewer/default.aspx?id=217917 You can change...

POE Lighting? Are we there yet?

I have no experience with any POE brands. I've been waiting forever for this area to mature.

    Whole Home Generator

Back to the OP (below quote from another thread) I used the transfer switch that came with the unit with no issues and much cheaper to buy as a set. Read through this install PDF.

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

mas8849 - You're not doing anything wrong. The Visual tool is too basic for pitched ceilings. Best you can do with that tool is average out the ceiling height to 12.62' @ which point the 8000 lumen fixture you linked to will work. To take it to the next level, you need to model the space in...

    lighting placement + fans!

No links whatsoever. No link to light fixture. Plus Fans are a PITA WRT Lighting. If you, OP, are seeing links in your post, you're the only one.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

MattRMagnum - See below from another thread. Typical Chinese BS = No UL, No DLC, plus the fancy car pics in their add aren't using the bulb they're advertising. 2 year warranty from China is pointless since return shipping would be more than the cost of the product.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

At 12ft mounting height, if this is for wrenching I would opt for a 3-Lamp strip light like this: https://www.prolighting.com/commercial-lighting/ledready/t443ssubcxx00p0-18w5k.html
