    Help with ratchet collection

I have a drawer full of strays that have been ground, cut, heated and bent for special applications. I can't afford to run out and buy specialized tools for a one time job. Taiwan and India made tools are good raw material when a standard tool won't do the job.

    Ultrasonic Cleaner Choice

I have a Crest unit that I originally bought to clean airbrush parts, but I now use it all the time for a little bit of everything. Based on my experience, Crest makes a good reliable product. Mine has a heater and that certainly seems to speed up the cleaning process. I almost always use the...

What grease to use for ratchet rebuild?

I have been using Sta-Lube (CRC) Engine Assembly Lube in the tube lately. It doesn't leak out at all, after a few wipe downs. It really helped my old SK and Speedmaster ratchets.

    Small hardware cabinet - wood

Excellent work. Better to have a keeper you can always take pride in, than to have another piece of plastic to throw away.

Anyone have a Metro Vac (or other porta-vacs)

I've had a black Vac n Blo model VNB-7 for probably 5-6 years and it is built like a tank. It is all metal construction and has quite a bit of power for its size. I like it because its reversible, making it a great inflator for air mattresses and the like. I think they are the real deal as far a...

    Hello from Kansas City

Just wanted to check in and say hello. Have been reading the board for a while now and think it is a really great resource. My interests right now are Bonney, Powr Kraft, and Plomb tools on the mechanical side of things, and Slocomb and Ames machinist tools. I am also a major fan of Huot tool...
