    Electric heat in concrete floor?

The heat pump is more efficient because it uses the electricity to move heat from a colder area to a warmer one. Heat is extracted from colder outside air, this heat is raised in temperature, and then the heat is dumped into the house...

    My DIY electric attic lift

Very nice. I suggest a 2x4 or a 1x4 nailed and maybe glued to the underside of all the rafters between the winch and the pulley block. This will distribute the force over many rafters, and if you can make a tie in to the pulley block, it will remove the twisting force on the rafters. I don't...

Please do use a heat pump or mini split for the heat. There is a big multiplier in effectiveness for the electricity used.

Don't do that. The Tool Gods don't like it, and will punish you more in the future. To reduce stress, drink Jameson Irish Whiskey, none of that nasty peat taste which is really just like the insoles of hippie sandals.:willy_nil

Can you use the side of a bench grinder wheel?

Even after google I do not know what a wheel simulator kit is. If you have a way of rotating or spinning the nut when grinding that would be good.

1972 Alfa Romeo GT Junior Restoration

Well I get mine from Liberty Supply in Leominster MA USA. http://www.libertyweld.com/ I would ask at a place that supplies welding gases. A university should have some for the physics department. It is a fairly common item.

How do I replace ball shut-off valve?

Use a slip coupler. These have no *** or line to stop the tube half way. Make some mark on the tube or measure so you know when the slip coupler is centered over the cut.

Insulating around door and window frames. Sprayfoam ?

As stated get the minimally expanding foam. Otherwise there will be much cursing when the jambs push and the door and windows cannot be opened.
