    T-handle nut driver?

This might be dumb, but how about some sort of adhesive between the parts (ratchet, extension, socket) so they cannot separate? I assume you only need one size socket?

    Left Over Lumber... Mine, Right?

I am putting your text in red and my reply in blue. Too much blather to do multiple quotes. QUOTE=justanengineer;5276007 No, its the opinion of someone who spends a few million annually on prototypes, sets up 1st run production pricing agreements, and has a history of getting prices and deals...

    Left Over Lumber... Mine, Right?

It is easier to hide what is going on. Most people only build one structure in a lifetime. So they don't think everything through. Another thing that can happen is that material is delivered and billed to site A by the lumber yard, then the contractor moves it to site B and uses it there.

Used my HF press for first time

I use the outer race of the old bearing to press in the new one. That way only the outer race of the new one gets force on it. A "flat" disc or plate may well allow force on the inner race and that is very bad.

    Penetrating fluid

Let it sit and separate then look at the acetone layer. It is pink color now. I assume that a small amount of the ATF dissolves into the acetone, and that is doing the penetrating.

    Penetrating fluid

Mix some ATF and acetone in a glass jar. Shake. Apply with brush. The acetone attacks and swells the rubber seal of the jar lid, so if one tightens the jar lid normally when closing, it is very hard to open later.. So I tighten the jar lid gently. Have paid for and used Kroil for years...

Water pipes on walls / not under slab ?

Copper pipe in direct contact with concrete will corrode and leak. Sooner or later, but with absolute certainty. Abandon the underground copper now, avoid a leak while you are away on a cruise later.

Having a house and shop built? Here's what we have learned.

Nobody said you all were. There are so many trades on a project that if only 1 in 5 subs are use less, the home owner still gets screwed. The GC and the subs know full well this is a one time deal between them and the home owner. It is essential that the HO keep a close and skeptical eye on...
