Mr Cool Minisplits for 2,000 Sq Ft insulated garage in New England for year round use - recommendations?

I was having trouble finding a place I could send an email or online msg to Mr Cool, but I just looked again and found they have a support email, so I've asked them the questions. Once concern I had was whether having two units in the same space, but independent could cause some issues with...

Mr Cool Minisplits for 2,000 Sq Ft insulated garage in New England for year round use - recommendations?

Hi, At last (after a year of delays) construction has started on my 2,000 sqft (36x56) fully Insulated pole barn (Mortons). I want to be able to work out there year round in Connecticut, though I could skip the very worst days. The cold doesn't worry me too much (probably my English blood!)...

Mezzanine Kits - any experience or opinions?

Wow - that is extremely helpful!!! - I will be reading every posting in that thread several times over. The contributions from others on the use of engineered timber might even change my mind and go for timber.....though currently I had pretty much decided on the Tecro kits At this point I am...

Mezzanine Kits - any experience or opinions?

Did you order from Tecrostar or Mezzaninesonline? (as @amber1962 says above, there's an apparent huge difference in pricing...) -Steve

Mezzanine Kits - any experience or opinions?

Thanks for posting...I'm still working out the design (with the "L" series), and so far they've been very helpful, though it usually takes about a week to respond to each email. How are the hand rails? I saw someone else mention they weren't very robust (and they are expensive), so they made...

Display OBD2 codes on the dash?

I didn't know that Chrysler did that. None of our OBD2 equipped vehicles (Nissan, Mazda, Jaguar) do that. TBH, if manufactuers just had a 4-digit LED display that showed the numbers next to the CEL light that would be helpful.... Note - I have a drawer full of various scanners I use when...

Display OBD2 codes on the dash?

I have realized that the ScanGauge II can show (and clear) the DTCs, but does require a couple of button clicks to get to them (they don't automatically pop-up on the screen when the CEL goes on). It still does a ton more than is needed, but might be the best solution I've found so far...

Display OBD2 codes on the dash?

Thanks! Unfortunately, looking at the supported data pages for different vehicles, it doesn't seem to display the actual code (though it can tell you the Check Engine light is on...) TBH, this display would be overkill for the application anyway - there's plenty of options for showing the...

Display OBD2 codes on the dash?

I've been looking for an ODB2 reader that I can leave plugged in on my wife's car that is extremely easy to operate - and just shows the DTC(s) on the display if they occur. Hopefully the display would just mount on the dash somewhere. A good design would be one that only powered on when the...

Mezzanine Kits - any experience or opinions?

I agree on trying to avoid posts, but I've got zero experience in the design/build of anything like this...though I can do very basic framing I'd not be confident in the design of something load-bearing with such long spans.

Mezzanine Kits - any experience or opinions?

After several years lurking and dreaming, I'm finally planning my dream/garage shop. It looks like it will be a 36x44 steel building, and I'd like to include a mezzanine (for storage and a 'social' area). I've been looking at https://www.mezzaninesonline.com/ (who sell Tecrostar Mezzanines)...

Anyone got a Rotary Bridge Jack? Need some info....

It does take plenty of 'pumping' to lift the car in the air, but I've not viewed that as a problem (if I needed a 'fast' jack I would probably have bought one that ran on air). Also - it is definitely very heavy when sliding it. That's why I was considering purchasing the rotary wheels and...

Anyone got a Rotary Bridge Jack? Need some info....

Yes - still got the jack, and I'm very pleased with it. However, no-one ever got back to me about the size of the Rotary wheels, so I've never done the conversion. I am using the original 'slide' pads, but fitted upside down. I also drilled holes through them and added some bolts to avoid them...

Anyone got a Rotary Bridge Jack? Need some info....

HI, I've just bought a SJ-35 Sliding Bridge Jack for my Danmar D7 4-poster lift. I bought this jack as it was the only bridge jack that would (based on online dimensions) fit between the 'tracks' on my lift. I had hoped to find a rolling jack, but couldn't find one narrow enough. However, I've...

Rolling Bridge Jack on a Danmar D7

Hi, I've got a Danmar D7 4-poster, and I'm looking to purchase a rolling bridge jack. I want a model that rolls along the 'tracks' inside each ramp, not the sliding ones that slide along the actual ramp surface. I've attached a diagram, showing the dimensions of the track. I'm looking at the...

New Harbor Freight 72" Massive Toolbox Review

Anyone know any where in CT or Western Mass where they have any of the 72" boxes on display locally? I'm considering the Homak H2Pro, but the new HF box also looks interesting - but I'd really prefer to see what I'm getting first. Sounds like HF aren't going to stock in store, and we don't...

    New from NW Connecticut

Stumbled across GJ a couple of weeks ago while researching for a new tool chest, and haven't been able to stay away since. I used to be a true 'shade tree' mechanic, pulling transmissions, replacing motors and welding in floors at the side of the road in all weathers, but got a corporate job...
