    DIY belt grinder questions

Yeah I just need the wheels, that's it. Steel is no problem, as I'm building the sander to fit into my way over kill bench. Looking to make a simple to wheel system. Found lots of 2" wide systems, but would live to find a 4" wide wheel setup.

    DIY belt grinder questions

What are you using for drive wheels? This is basically what I want to. Good point on the size on the main drive, 6" works for me.

    DIY belt grinder questions

Looking to build a belt grinder (unless I find a used one first). I have a motor (5hp 220v 3450rpm motor) & plenty of steel to do this, only thing I'm missing are the pulleys/wheels. Whats everyone use? I'd like a big and small pulley (big drive wheel 8"? drive, small idler ~2" for notching, at...

    Compressor pump swap question

I could make room easy enough. Good idea, I could then slow it down enough to work.

    Compressor pump swap question

Yeah don't have much info on the old pump, no bashing or anything on it. It's around 7cfm, as far as I've been able to judge, dual cylinder pump. But just dug into the tank and found its no good for pressure, bottom is pretty well rusted out, but still interested in swapping motors. The noise...

    Compressor pump swap question

Picked up a 5HP standup compressor from auction the other day, and got it home only to find out the compressor head/ pump is cracked, likely my own doing when we were loading it. I bought it to replace an older horizontal compressor of mine. My question is, could I swap the pump off my other...

Lets see your DIY work benches . . .

bout 6-700lbs Limited to the jack stand leg capacity which is 12ton, so likely the concrete is the weak point. Cost 250 to build, needed a strong immovable fixture bench for the stuff I build.

Receiver hitch tube, adding hole and strength?

Get your reciever tubing from a steel supply store, its 2.0 ID with the seam ground flush (or you can buy it with a seam and die grind it out), you can also buy 1/4" wall. It will also be cheaper per foot as well.

Ann Arbor MI welding tank prices

Pretty typical price. Try to maybe find a used tank on CL and exchange it.

    Spectrum 2050, would you buy?

Been looking for a plasma, came across a spectrum 2050 that needs some repair, guy says it need a mothherboard of some sorts, also needs a torch. Machine is from a shop that I have experience with, and they were generally pretty good with their equipment. They are asking $100 for it. Been...

    Anyone tried this Bender?

I was gonna go into detail, but Roguefab themselves said it best. For the dollar I believe their's is the best bang for the buck from capacity to capability, the protools and other similar setups just aren't at the same level.

    Anyone tried this Bender?

That's only if you're doing multi plane bends (which you shouldn't be doing unless bending a true seamless tubing), otherwise no problems. The only real limitation on how tight bends can be together is limited by the die radius, and really it's no different than any of the other benders...

    Anyone tried this Bender?

As close as the die will allow and as long as the tube clears the side plates. Great for bumpers, cages, etc.

    Anyone tried this Bender?

Difference in cost is minimal, actually less when you factor in converting the protools/JD2 to hydraulics. Rotary style benders like this are stronger in design and can bend heavier wall tubing. Also these will do larger degree bends without repinning. Another important factor people forget...

Mud truck axle project, meritor 5 ton planteries & ford 9"

Bit of an update. Was able to get all of the internal welding complete, only thing left to weld is the top flanges/cover plates. However, these will be left until after the shock/link /steering mounts are complete (will tie them down to the axle tube) there are a couple smaller cover plates...
