    :spit: :lol_hitti Nicely done.

The project that should have taken 2 weeks

Wow- if you got all that done over even a few months, you move a lot quicker than I do. :) Nice work. I am stealing your french cleat wall system idea AND your mudroom deal. I already have it 2/3 of the way there, but the mudroom/closet shoe keeper area for the kids makes way more sense than the...

Winter Project - Idiot On Board

Neat- THAT is something you sure don't see every day.

DIY Sectional Garge Door In An Old Garage? Advice Needed!

I haven't done it, but I have been told by a number of people I know (most of whom are fairly competent DIYers and pretty decent at building stuff) that the couple hundred you spend getting a garage door hung is totally worth it. Take that for what it's worth. I would do the framing/repair and...

METALHEALTH: Construction of my 60' x 148' detached pole building.

Folks do that around here as well- there aren't any building codes way out in the county, but I gather from what you have posted so far that you'd want to stay within code. For your purposes, if you don't want to deal with plumbing, you could always buy one of those incinolet toilets and put it...

    Anyone Using an Unfinished Garage?

I moved into an pretty-much unfinished house (foreclosure that was somewhat rehabbed by Fannie Mae to bare-minimum for livability) three years ago- ever since, that's been the focus for us. It's got a nice pole-barn type attached carport at the end that I have been on the cusp of enclosing as a...

    Pics of my dad's garage

Definitely the first hot tub I have seen on this board.:lol_hitti

METALHEALTH: Construction of my 60' x 148' detached pole building.

 to your patience. I want to know- could you have even talked about this ten years ago when it happened? I would have been furious ALL THE TIME.

METALHEALTH: Construction of my 60' x 148' detached pole building.

Sounds like an ordeal was endured getting your building constructed. I can't fathom how people expect to get paid for crappy, half-done work, and then/still have the nerve to complain about stuff that wouldn't have been an issue had they done their job right the first time around...

How to, "Build American" so Americans will buy.

This pretty much sums me up. I don't much care what the US or foreign automakers do this year, as I won't be buying it for at least three, no matter how awesome it is. In the meantime, 2 out of 3 of my cars are paid for and in good repair- I feel like that's a pretty good place to be. If they...

    Garage is done with pics

Good trade. Nothing againsteither car, but if you can come out ahead, always a good idea. Looks like you keep rotating pretty well anyway. I do still like that Charger, though.

    Here's my "man cave".

Neat pics- I thought there was a long exposure on there somewhere, but I couldn't figure out the blue glow. Once you said there were aftermarket gauges on the inside, I understood more how the exposure worked. :)

    My build

Neat. And going up quick! There are still some things in there that I'm not sure about, but I really am more curious to see how it works out once you get all moved in. Best of luck- looks like moving day is coming right up.

    bathroom insulation

I'm 97% done with exactly your project. Southwest corner facing shower/tub surround, etc., bathroom had to be gutted down to the studs to repair rotted floor, framing, etc. I did a tile tub surround (changed from a tiny shower), built in a niche shelf, did the flooring, etc., as well as most of...

    New reorganization

Starter houses have a way of becoming long term residences when the economy is the way it has been. Just saying. :) Looks like a good amount of space- what the heck is in all those boxes? I see many trips to the dump/goodwill/salvation army in your future.

    Here's my "man cave".

That's a nice building. My favorite color, and the sliding barn doors on the side is a nice touch. Is there a glowing steering wheel in that BelAir, or is that a trick of the light, and it's just body color? In other words, it looks like aliens are landing inside your car- what's up with that?

    A small 100' x 200' in the woods?

My dad told me when I was a kid: "Never get into a fight with an old guy. Old guys fight for different reasons than young guys, and they will put a hurtin' on you." Of course, at the time, I probably thought 30-40 was old, so...

Ive got mould forming in the ceiling.....why??

Vicegrip is right, I had that backwards. I still think there's moisture condensing on your ceiling somehow, though I'm not really sure how- being winter everything should be pretty dry, and if you're not artificially heating the space, everything should be roughly the same temperature, so you...

    A small 100' x 200' in the woods?

Wow. I'm still not getting over how this guy must have missed the boat on how a Quonset hut is supposed to be kind of a temporary structure. I bet, though, that with all that concrete that's always in the shade, if he's got a place to plug in a fan or two, he probably doesn't need to run much...
