    Garage Stereo Systems

Wow- isn't that too much power for such a small area? I understand the use in a big huge theater, but will a cabinet of that size sound good at all inside a room of a completely different size/voume/etc? Neat project reusing old stuff, though.

Stump's New 2 Car Detached Garage Project.

Nice looking place- my 30-year-old ranch is getting jealous- I can just about feel my place getting set to break something out of spite. I am just thinking about security. The spare space along the sidewall won't net you much if anything in terms of storage space, but I think I'd...

    My long awaited shop

What does this mean? Glad you got a slab down- that's a big step.

Stump's New 2 Car Detached Garage Project.

I'd lose that window facing away from my house, or reframe it into a smaller one that is higher off the ground. That will open up another 3 feet or so where you can park a workbench/toolbox/service cart AND keep it so you can see what's going on with entrances to teh garage from your deck. Might...

Removing an entry door and framing over

That'll be the hard part. Be sure when you put your tar paper/ Tyvek whatever up on the outside that you stick the new end up under the old so it'll turn any moisture that should happen to ever run down the wall. Other than that, nothing fancy involved in the framing.

Weekend Engine Install, Vintage Equipment and more!

Nice. How long before the Challenger is all buttoned up and back on the road? All I managed to get through over the weekend (even though I extended it through Friday and Monday) was assembling a swing set for the now-4-year-old and hosting a birthday party for him. Somehow, I'm OK with that. :)

I want to kill my bay neighbor

I love the responses- most of the "CUT HIS HANDS OFF!!!!1" type responses seem to be made in fun. I am thinking back to what I was like at 19. I was sure I had the world figured out, and that everybody had something to learn from me. ha! :headscrat If your work neighbor has at least a halfway...

replacement pressure regulator for new-ish compressor

Pressure regulator on my craftsman compressor seems to have given out, and I have only had the compressor a year or so, in which time I have only probably touched that knob a few times. Given that it seems to be a super-lame plastic-fantastic fitting- is there anything better than just heading...

Where does your garage stand in your hood?

I'm under-garaged for my area, everyone seems to have at least a shed or outbuilding. I have the space for a detached shop, and plan to build one, but first I have other stuff to take care of with the house. The attached 2-car carport needs to get closed in, and the unfinished basement 1-car...

    Purple Garage

The people who are complaining need to shut their pieholes. It's not that bad. It appears to be a perfectly well-built structure, and the color isn't even all that offensive. If it was neon purple or the color of Barney the dinosaur, that'd be one thing. This is fine- hell, even if it WAS the...

HF Central pneumatic Garage Air Kit

I thought half the point of using copper or black pipe was to force heat transfer and make water condense out? Looks like a neat setup, and I could see how it would work, but seems to me that a relatively simple copper layout (if you can sweat pipe yourself) wouldn't be that much more. I have...

    My Shop.

Neat project. Makes me miss my grandpa and his shop- he was a nurseryman as a second career after he retired from being a principal. Attached to his tractor shed, there's a humongous MESS like that (my mom has been trying to deal with it for several years at this point), and I need to go check...

    Buying a house, killer garage!

Wow, there are some nervous people in here. Yeah, it's old. Yeah, the wiring needs to be addressed, maybe even have a few bucks spent on an update. If the new owner is happy, be happy for him. Maybe the structure isn't 150% engineered, but I seriously doubt it's going to fall down. It's an old...

Mother of all garages who has "The Garage"

I like them all. Some of them are more awe-inspring than others, but there are a LOT of cool places on here- so much that I started to name names, but I decided I'd be leaving out more than I'd be including. For those that have taken the time to write up/ document/ take pictures so you can...

    12'x16' Storage Building Suggestions/Help

Never heard of a shed blowing over in anything except a tornado. If there's a tornado of sufficient size to flip my garden shed over, well, I'm more worried about my house and what trees are being blown over on it. No such animal as a local codes department where I am. I try to build things to...
