    Tile Flooring

Install the door first, then flooring. You can cut the door casings with a jamb saw for clean tile install. Then put up your base molding. Good luck. Getting ready to do the same in my basement. (also, if it makes you feel any better, I own a tile store and asked some of the installers...

New Garage !! New Garage !!

One suggestion. If you ever plan on putting in a lift, I would recommend a higher ceiling height. I built a 28x40 a couple of years back and ended up with 10' ceilings due to rooms above. I am very limited on lifts and also lifting heights. Good luck

    bmwpower's garage build

Nice build. Following it for a while. Couple of questions, if you don't mind. On your floor. Did you use any sort of anti-slip? How slick is the surface? I used S/W Shield-Crete with no anti-slip and it is very slick. Very tempted to re-do my floor. Also, do you have any pics of the...

Starting back up on my garage project

I added a garage about 3 yrs ago and pretty much stalled on the finishing. Finally getting around to the inside. Original thread - http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1844 I used Sherwin-Williams Shield-Crete Epoxy last fall. OK results. Hard to get a consistent color and...

    Any tips/help on grinding

I am most likely getting ready to rent an Edco floor grinder w/ diamond cutters. I degreased the floor yesterday. Originally I was going to acid etch and then grind to smooth it out. I had a couple of bad patch jobs. After doing a little bit of reading, it sounds like I can skip the acid...

    Temporary option

I ran out of time before the weather change to epoxy my floor. I will now have to wait to spring time. I have one car that leaks a little bit of oil. Until I get a chance to take care of that, I was wondering if the was a large "rubber" mat that I could purchase as a temp solution. Right...

    New Garage, in progress

Thanks. I appreciate the compliments. The beam spec are W14x26@39'10" . The beam was only $535, although the center support with the plates welded on was $375. I only have the infloor heat in the garage. The rest of the house is baseboard hotwater/oil furnace. When I hook-up the heated...

    Garage floor covering question?

I finally settled on the paint/epoxy for my garage floor. I had narrowed it down to Rustoleum or Sherwin-Williams. I went with Sherwin-Williams, their Shield-Crete product. It only comes in two colors, pewter or beige. I went with pewter. I was told the Armor Seal doesn't hold up to tire...
