how do i read the date on M12 batteries??

My guess would be one was made on 02-21-13 and 06-29-12. My M12's bought in 2011 have that year as the first digits and the ones I bought recently have 14 as the first digits. The only thing that would make sense for the rest would either be week or day of the year.

Anyone else think the M12 series a bit underpowered???

I don't know I'd use a special cheap kit as a representative of the whole line. The batteries and charger are probably a huge part of that kit. At retail they are, what $90 right there. Even knocking off 50% that's $45. Something has to give and my guess is it's the drill. Looking at the...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

I think the print in the ad said it ran till 12/1 so you still have time. Or you can order up to 10 online.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Yeah - that's what I got it for - blowing out the garage, the shed, and the bed of the truck. Works really good for that. Even worked decent to blow the grass clippings off the sidewalk. Wouldn't use it for leaves in the grass or large jobs but it does the light things well. Not worth $100...

Me 2. I'm either going to see if they will credit the $20 or return and re-buy.

    I need a chop/miter saw.

I've had good luck with my 10" Ryobi. I think it was $100 or so. Survived being submerged in 3 ft of sewer water when our basement flooded. Hosed it off, shot WD40 all over the thing and it's got some surface rust but works fine. Used it to finish our basement (after fixing the sewer) and a...

Do you keep your compressor pressurized when not in use?

Weekend warrior here. I shut it off when done, open the drain valve and let it sit like that until the next time I need it. I figure it not only gets rid of any condensation but lets the tank vent.

    Dewalt 40v pro yard tools

I'd put more trust in the Stihl cordless stuff for pro use over DeWalt/Black & Decker.

did I miss the discussion on this very eye-opening bit of news?

I don't think LiPolymer can hold up to the huge discharge currents that can be demanded. Like on phosphate can but the capacity isn't there yet.

It does happen all the time. Apples patents were found to hold up in court. Samsung did make a payout to Apple. As it should be, IMHO. We protect designs and processes. If you pour your resources into something, someone else shouldn't be able to take your work and rip it off.

If the law allows the second way then we need to change the law. Looking at the documents, it seems that the patents cover a specific method of battery attachment as well as the electronics and batteries to make the 20+A discharge happen. Despite the sensationalist headlines, I think that is...

did I miss the discussion on this very eye-opening bit of news?

Personally, I don't think this is a bad thing. If you or your company develop some new way to solve a problem or a new design you should be able to defend that for a certain period of time. Where I don't agree is some things that are simple getting patented. Or things that are obvious...

It comes with the M12 power source. You need to purchase this: http://www.milwaukeetool.com/accessories/batteries-and-chargers/49-24-2371 to use the M18 batteries.

It will but will be runtime limited. I think you may get 15-20 minutes out of an XC battery. I like it for the quick cleanups and even for a quick clean out of the cars and truck. But it will blow through a battery fairly quick.

Cordless Expansion Q - Stick with Same Platform?

I'll tackle this as I own both systems... Originally started out with the M12 in 2011 - the hammer drill, impacter, and multitool. I'd imagine those tools are very similar since they are newer. The hammer drill is surprisingly useful. Nice, compact, and with a good amount of power. Won't be...

DeWalt 20V, I need your opnion

When we were at sub 18v, were there really any tools available besides very limited drills? I had a 9.6V drill and it was OK for light stuff but it was slow and really not good for drilling larger holes. There were no impactors, angle grinders, jigsaws, circular saws, etc. at anything less...

Bosch heated jackets - who has one?

The Miwaukee connects with a normal circular DC connector, like for a laptop. It has a USB port but that's for charging a cellphone.

Bosch heated jackets - who has one?

If you've got Milwaukee stuff, why not get the Milwaukee jacket? I just got one and it's really good. Was out the other day walking the dog in the 21 degree weathter wearing a T-shirt under the jacket and was nice and toasty.
