    Projection monitor for garage wall?

I believe you, I do. ;) When the topic first came up I wasn't thinking about having the computer interfaced with it...I was thinking video. Once the possibilities occurred to me and I realized where you were going with it...YEAH! With a computer and a scanner, a digital camera and video...

Out of the norm tool boxes

LOL...low life passerby...that just isn't a reality here. Besides that I don't open my overhead door all that much and the tool area is in the part of the shop that faces the alley anyway. Only my immediate neighbors walk down my alley. They don't need my tools they have plenty of their own...

Out of the norm tool boxes

Well that might be a concern. I tend to think the big (red) box is as much of an "advertisement" as the tool board, also then your tools are all gathered together in one box that could maybe? be rolled or carried out of the shop with less hassle than all the tools on the wall. Granted those...

The more I think about it the more I like the idea. LOL, yeah maybe only watch the GGW on breaks! :bounce:

    Projection monitor for garage wall?

How about for PPV *************** events? Interesting...sometimes it might be handy to be able to project a diagram or picture I suppose...although it might be just as easy to set the manual down nearby. It sounds like a plausible argument to use when convincing the wife that one...

    Garage Security

I'm with you on that! As I said above a dog that barks when people come around is a great anti-theft device. The only reason that I did not mention a dog in my first post is because lots of people see the dog as more trouble than it is worth. Also too many dogs bark at everything...making...

    Garage Security

Well I doubt the issue would ever come up since I am not and have never been a burglar but in the event it did happen the dog would more likely get the business end of the crowbar used to gain entry. In any case if I were in that sort of situation I wouldn't be giving love taps. In my job doing...

    Garage Security

:lol_hitti No offense intended but a good kick will probably take most of the piss and vinegar out of your smaller dog. A pair of eyes a foot or so off the floor just doesn't seem intimidating to me. I've gone a few rounds hand to teeth with a boxer before and have handled many strange dogs...

    Surge Repair for Ni-cad Batteries

That's the route I'm going to take. I am contacting a local company to see what they can do for me. I don't want to fool around with opening the sealed battery packs. I'd rather let someone who has done them before handle that. I might try doing the drill with the internal pack myself but if...

    Garage Security

I have seen X10 motion lights that will sound a remote alert when triggered. I myself have a computer based digital video surveillance system that can be setup to detect motion and send alerts. It can send to pagers and can email still shots of what the camera saw to any email address...

    Surge Repair for Ni-cad Batteries

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure I want to try it yet though...the explosion scenario is not terribly attractive and I haven't got a 20-40 volt DC power supply on hand although I have one on my "wish list" :) I had talked to a guy at a local battery supply house who told me he could replace...

    Surge Repair for Ni-cad Batteries

Does anyone know how to perform the surge repair on NiCd cordless drill batteries and does it actually work to revitalize old batteries that won't take or hold a charge anymore? I have three Makita 9.6 volt batteries that are not so great anymore but the drill itself is still working fine. I...

Who has the most ratchet drives?

Well that just about sums up Snap On tools then. Worthless! What a racket that company is. Guess that's why there is nothing in my shop made by Snap On and never will be. :soapbox: Sheesh. I feel underprivileged. I think I only have six ratchets including the crappy ones. I do have two...

    Oven Cleaner

Heh, Canada. Thankfully it seldom gets that hot where I am. Usually only in the 90's for a few weeks through July and August. It can however get to -45 in the winter if that helps. :lol_hitti

    Toolbox full of junk tools?

Set her up with her own tool drawer in the house. I did this and it has worked very well so far. Also impressing upon the little woman about the penalty for removing a tool and not returning it exactly as found to exactly where found might help! :uzi: :scared: :rocketwho

    Oven Cleaner

Buy the kind for use in a cold oven and it won't matter. Regular oven cleaner will still work without heat but the heat helps it do it's thing. Not sure if sunlight would be enough to matter though. It will damage paint. Don't put it on anything you don't want it to remove. :shocking:

Anyone have couches in your garage?

I also see your points. If I had the space to have an area like you guys have created I might consider it, although I am still not terribly appreciative of spectators in my shop. I take my hat off to both of you and to the other guys who have turned their garages into work/rec rooms. Some of...

    Toolbox full of junk tools?

Great minds think alike. I had the same idea after reading that adjustable wrench thread. It is probably a good idea but a better idea would be a hard and fast no loan policy. There are some things I just won't loan. Books and tools would top out the list.
