Do the Magrails spill deep sockets when you slam the drawer? If they hold the sockets, they seem great!

Whitworth tools - anyone still make good ones?

To the original poster's question about current makers of good WW tools, I'd like to add my personal preference for the Gedore sockets, though they are eye-poppingly expensive sometimes. I'm glad King **** are making impact sockets and deep-well sets, although I haven't used them and can't speak...

Vintage Craftsman hand saw, anything special?

Picked this up a few days ago, posted it in the garage sale thread but no interest really. Is this anything special? I am not a big nut over saws but the logo was nice and it was cheap. Any idea what era this dates to? Photo is a clickable thumbnail. <a...

    2014 Garage sale thread!

Not sure if this is any big deal but I really thought it was cool with the logo so sharp. I think its a little cleaner and the lettering pops better in person, but I needed the flash. <a...

    protecting tool box investment

That's a great idea. I might add that polycarbonate (lexan) is quite a bit tougher than acrylic (plexi.) Ita a great idea though and you should be really happy with the 722, its a great box.

    value of IR t30

If you can get a motor with the same diameter shaft as your 3phase motor and the same key, you can use your old pulley and save yourself a little grief. Like I said at the start, there's always motors on Craigslist. Where are you located?

    value of IR t30

Hard to get rid of as a project. I think the 242 is really fantastic, been great for me. I also have a newer t30 that is probably adequate but I don't have as much faith in it. I have no idea what your situation is but I'm pretty sure you're going to be best off replacing your electric motor...

    Cornwell Ratchets?

I think Karl nailed it, Cornwell's hardline tools are fantastic but if you factor the warranty into the price it becomes crucial to have a reliable driver for service. A lot of people her seem to be getting rid of Cornwell due to a lack of that driver in this part of LA. Cornwell doesn't...

    Tool Cart Advice

My experience with Cornwell phone support is that they don't do it. Without a driver, there's no warranty. Thats how it was for me.

Advice on installing long brake lines

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned, you will want to know the difference between double flare and bubble flare. The kid at the parts store will be happy to sell you double flare tube and a bubble flare union. You will have a leak in that union. A good trick for finding leaks is to put baby...

    build an aircompressor?

If you feel like getting down to LA I have an old Ingersoll t30 and a tank and a 220 motor kicking around. I'm not super attached to that stuff and you could put together a good compressor. The motor I haven't run lately but the pump and the tank should be fine.
