Grey Pneumatic vs Tekton vs Sunex

No one is remotely offended. We just responded to your statement, as a nonprofessional, about why the tools are brought up. No one is saying that they don't misuse tools to get the job done, but a reasonable person isn't going to hold it against the tool or manufacturer if they break under those...

Grey Pneumatic vs Tekton vs Sunex

No disrespect intended, but I think this has to do with you not being a professional tradesman. I've used plenty of Tekton stuff as a ski lift electrician/mechanic, and it's been fantastic. It gets used hard in all kinds of weather in all kinds of conditions including situations where I have to...

How to prevent holes forming in bottom of tool belt pouch

This is probably the case. My first set of bags was a cheap Klein set from Home Depot that had holes in a few months. I upgraded to Boulder Bags, and they're nearly indestructible. Edit: So it doesn't seem like I misunderstood the topic, tool pouches are often referred to as "bags" at least in...

Harbor Freight recalls jackstands that replaced the recalled jackstands.

Re: HF Replacement Jack Stands Recalled Especially considering some people won't hesitate spending $130.00 on a ratchet but scoff at spending that on a pair of jack stands.

WTB Dewalt ASD ratcheting wrench set

I'm looking for a metric set with the ASD open end. 10mm-19mm though a set missing the 11mm wouldn't bother me.

    Astro pneumatic nano impact sockets

Is the wrench and socket set going to come in a set? If so, I'll probably wait until that comes out to but a set. If not, I'll probably buy the sockets in the next week or so. Also, do you guys have any plans of normal impact socket sets?

What's everyone's favorite and go to 3/8 ratchet and what's yout favorite tool you ow

My favorite 3/8 ratchet is a Dual 80. It's a boring answer, I know, but it's just great. I'm not a die hard Snap On guy, but that's one of their tools I'm very happy to have though I'd like to replace the comfort grip with a hard handle. It's not my most used 3/8 ratchet though. I work as a...

What tool(s) did you pay full price for and why?

A Duralast 23mm deep socket for a pcv valve on an 02 Maxima. It wasn't expensive, but I did pay full price. I didn't think I'd ever need one, so I never owned one. I ended up buying it at Autozone because they were the first place I could find that had one. I haven't used it since. I ended up...

Is this the correct way to 'bump out' a receptacle?

Those are a real lifesaversfor devices in brick. They even work well when you're receptacle sits flush but your box moves too much too. They pull the box right against the inside of the brick nicely. I just used one today actually.

Is this the correct way to 'bump out' a receptacle?

Electrician here. No, it doesn't as far as I know. I've never seen anything in the NEC requring it. You just need to extend it either using those spacers or box extension and insulate it from the flammable material using that spark ring someone posted. You're good to after that.

    Hey, All

I've been a long time lurker, but I decided it might be fun to get involved. I'm an electrician living in the Rocky Mountains. I've been an avid DIYer and tinkerer since I can remember. I've been a tool collector since my teenage years out of necessity. My dad wasn't too keen on me using...
