I’m thinking about getting a track saw, I imagine the general opinion is yes? Looking at various models Festool, Makita, Bosch? Corded/battery? Thanks in advance.

The cherry really smells nice. Kept the slabs to cut up on the bandsaw for the smoker. I really like cherry for flavour. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll put some ribs on for tonite 🍺

These are all killed by the ash borer, they live under the bark but the wood is still good

That’s what mine looked like. I unscrewed them and flipped them. Like new on the underside. Best method I found for cleaning is a surface cleaner for a pressure washer

I like the insect holes , spalting, stains etc much better than perfect clear lumber, those are fantastic looking slabs. If you go down the same rabbit hole as me there will be many gallons of epoxy in your future. We cut up 3 ash trees yesterday that were killed by the emerald ash borer. Got a...

Not many defects but a small river table courtesy of the emerald ash borer and a few more things. Thanks for the comments. We have a lot of wood cut but it won’t be ready until next summer. Getting the sawmill has been a lot of fun and gives me something to do now that I’m retired

It was great fun cutting the lumber as we needed it. All wood came from the property.
