    Danaher rebuild kit help

When you say "wait till you break that guy", do you mean that I can take it in and get a new NAPA ratchet with higher tooth count (meaning this same model, just the next incarnation of it. NOT them giving me a better tool than I initially bought) or that once I break it I would in turn buy a...

Duralast ratchet bait and switch with inside pics

In case anyone else got to the end of this thread and didn't bother to google translate: Google Translate defaults to Japanese, this is actually Chinese! Chinese translation: This is what you get when you spend U.S. dollars on the cheap tools! and Less sensible Japanese translation: Land...

    Danaher rebuild kit help

Part number is 91211 J-. I got this one on Cripe for ~$12 shipped so it's probably the cheapest 60-tooth ratchet to be had new OR used. I would get more but don't really need them...I only got this one so I could rebuild a high-tooth count ratchet for the few times I need one. I'll try and do a...

    Summer Secret Santa?

I'm curious as to how it works as well. Def. in so long as it's reasonable (Doubt it would be anything other than that though) but I'm curious as to how it's structured. Sounds like an amazingly fun opportunity though!

How old is my ridgid 10" pipe wrench

Send it to your email address. Nearly EVERY text/pic. messaging service allows you to send an SMS/MMS to an email address. Just select "New Contact" or whatever your phone has, put in your email address, then hit 'send' just as you would any other. I could do it on a Moto RAZR many years ago...

    Danaher rebuild kit help

Hey all, I've got a NAPA 3/8" ratchet and am wondering what rebuild kits work in it. It's currently a 60 tooth ratchet but rumor has it, there are a slew of rebuild kits that work in these and I'm wondering what the cheapest, highest tooth count kit is. The Matco kit is a bit spendy and I don't...

    Melted my screwdriver

Normally if it's my own stupidity that damages an item I do the honest thing and just keep it for parts (i.e. I CAN'T throw it away but don't want to dishonestly warranty it) but in your case, I would contact Williams. I would expect a decent quality driver to stand up to it's "Chemical...

Leak resistent disposable batteries: Are they avaiable?

The best I've used are the Energizer Lithium batteries. You pay a heck of a premium for them but I've never had an issue using them. Normally I prefer Duracell batteries, I've had far fewer Duracell's leak after over-discharge then anything else but it still happens. I mainly only buy the 'top'...

Tool boards and other freebies from auto parts store.

Any more pics? Def. a thread as stated by @wornoutoldman. I'm not much of a tool board fan, I do have a soft spot for tool-cases though so I can't much dispute the usefulness of 'um. Nice score man, very nice. I would use them as 'mancave art' but hopefully you can put them to their true purpose.

    Ebay Wrench lot A

No, Sears sold "Sears" brand tools in the '70s, '80s and early '90s. I believe they fell under fire by wrongly classifying tools as "Made in USA" by leveraging the Craftsman name with their "Sears" tools. I've got some "Sears" sockets/tools and the are all pretty crummy. Sears|Craftsman labeled...

    Harbor Freight Compressor died...

    A) Pretty sure in capacitors it's called electrolyte, not plastic...or in some cases wax but that's *less* common B) All the major mfg's pretty much use CapXon capacitors. They are the lowest bidder for nearly all PSU's...of which, Samsung LCD panels are also the most common the the 2 are often...

One of these things is not like the others...

Get Tapatalk man, TOTALLY worth it. As for the pic. Pretty classy...Is that Walmart though!? That's a pretty big selection for a wallyworld, awfully big saw, drill-bit, sandpaper, and skimpies section. You do have to wonder when you see this type of thing. I've seen contraceptives in the toy...

How long do you expect a cordless drill to last?

I like to look at the investment of a tool. As a DIY'er I don't use them extensively but I DO value quality so I buy *closer* to commercial grade (the lower end ones) power tools for personal/sudo-professional work. I expect that 5-6 years is where the tool pays for itself several times over so...

Can anyone identify or tell me what this hardware is?

Nobody's got a clue on the raw part this is--or at least a comparable replacement? All I need is the 1/4" hex shank and a flanged outside so it can be placed inside a driver handle and not round out.

    Fixing a Ratchet

Looks just like the menards one. Took one apart and posted a thread here. If you've got any questions let me know. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130355 I don't know that I'd bother trying to fix it though. Makes a GREAT ratchet to take apart and learn about them though...

    Overheard at Harbor Freight

Sounds like Sears...only they're stiffing the consumer with the Made in USA name/tradition and expecting average Joe Do-It-Yourselfer to not take notice the new Made in China tag and terrible quality... Sorry, every good HF thread needs at least one good Sears comment/cheap-shot.

Can anyone identify or tell me what this hardware is?

That's exactly what they are...and what they were pulled from. I'm looking to buy on their own though. These were actually pulled from a Craftsman evolv handle but, these CAN'T be a super specific item, can they!? I'll email/call McMaster-Carr Monday if no-one around thee parts can identify...
