    Wera Hex-plus, who's used them?

Another positive vote for Hex plus. I have them in power bits that I used with a ratchet. Sent from my VTR-L09 using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

That must have been heartbreaking to see that rear not clear. I have been following on IG and let out a big "oh nooo" when I saw that. Sent from my VTR-L09 using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Tools from the old world

I think the consensus is that these USAG 285 wrenches are made in Taiwan same as the Facom 440 wrenches by Toptul. I got a 12pc set and an extra 17mm and 19mm. The extra 17 and 19 will hang next to my bench top mill as they are the sizes needed to adjust the till on the head and I change this...

    Tools from the old world

Old world brand but not sure where these are produced now. USAG 127 PN 19-60 circlipb pliers. These are the same as the Facom 197A pliers just lower priced. Sent from my VTR-L09 using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Tools from the old world

What about using the Wiha blade holder and then using longer power bits? That would fix the tip weighting issues and you get the firm locking Centrofix holder.

    Zengineer's Metal Work Shoppe

Thanks for the detail on lighting. I have a 16x24 that needs more light.

That's a good looking shop space. Too bad you don't have gas on the property for heating options.

Knurled handle 1/4 drive roto head ratchet?

From what I can find I don't think SK ever made a roto head in the TUFF1 (Facom) design, only the 3/8.

    So...

Grizzly G0704 benchtop mill and a G0602 lathe are about the largest you can run off 110v. Both well supported machines with lots of info out there about them. If you've never used a mill or a lathe then they will be good to learn on. The mill is R8 tooling so if you do upgrade to a Bridgeport...

Knurled handle 1/4 drive roto head ratchet?

There are a ton of brands doing same 72t roto head design with either a comfort grip or the classic tapered handle in high polish chrome. I can't seem to find a kurled handle version in 1/4 drive. Anyone seen one?

All in including the FedEx brokerage and shipping it was $250 CAD shipped to Vancouver BC. So $190 usd. I am happy with that as I specifically wanted a satin finish socket with the knurling. I likely could have done better pricing on something like Tekton by waiting for an Amazon deep discount...

    Canadian Tire DEALS

On the topic of Canadian Tire deals, I bought one of the Stanley box sets back maybe 6 months ago and I regret it now. The selection of sockets *****, and the ratchets feel like ****. The 1/2 drive one keeps locking it. Wish I'd taken it back before I used it. With the 1/2 drive ratchet locket...

    1/2 drive.... how important

I just bought all new sockets and ratchets and skipped 3/8. For me working on a newer vehicle at home it's been brakes and suspension and the 1/2 is needed for the 20mm and 22mm bolts. The other thing is my new 1/2 ratchet is a Facom and it's a bit shorter and lighter than some of the other...

    Tools of Japan

Here is why I love digging through threads like this on my lunch break. Can you put a power bit style bit into the TD-6310HX and see how it holds? I've been looking for options that completely lock down insert bits. So many of the options allow the bit to wobble around.

Looks like only spline drive from what I can see on the website, also the sets are only 10pc so lots of skips and I don't see the individual ones available to fill in the gaps.

They are from Draper tools in the UK. I was going to buy the OEM tools ones but they don't have as complete sets in the 1/2 drive. I bought them from Lawson-His. I had to email them for a shipping quote to send them from the UK to Canada...

    Metric Car Tool Set

No 1/2 deep sockets. Doing any suspension work on your vehicle and you'll need a 20mm or 22mm deep socket.

    Metric Car Tool Set

They are common skips in many small sets. If you're buying a 17 or 18 pc set they'll be in there, but in the euro 10-12pc set's I've been looking at (Facom and USAG) it's common to go 15-17-19-22. Also it's all a compromise. We'd all love to have full sets with no skips in all the different...
