The 5 and 1 drawer roll cart, and the tray type roll cart are all gloss red, 41" cart, cabinet, and side attachments are all the satin red, the 56 more of gloss if I remember.

Are very many of the shops here actually worked in?

Exactly lol. I thought I'd pull the boat in and winterize it real quick... Not sure what happened, but now I'm waiting for parts. :lol_hitti Obviously, I decided to winterize because it's getting cold - and I'm not done insulating. And only have one light installed - on the other end of...

Are very many of the shops here actually worked in?

I think for a large part, they are worked in, just not photographed during. But some people do seem to be able to work clean & organized. For the life of me, I don't know how they do it. Even my small jobs look like everything exploded. I end up with puddles of oil, piles of tools covered in...

Air Eliminator Problems in Radiant System

I don't like to suggest throwing parts/money at a problem, but I would look at the air scoop and air eliminator as a possible replacement. I have an Amtrol setup like this, and it's worked flawlessly: An auto-fill/backflow preventer would be worthwhile too. Even purging my system with 40...

    teach me about gas lines

For outdoor runs, you can't beat yellow PE (high-density polyethylene plastic). 1" is only around $.40 a foot vs 1/2" black steel at over $1.25 Gas companies direct bury it, but I always make sure it's protected. A Telsco or similar compression fitting on each end onto 1" black iron, then...

capping pvc pipe flush with slab

I put abs caps on mine since they were the only ones I could find with a flat end and pulled them off while the concrete was still green. That way there's room around the pipe for a collar if you want to continue the pipe up for protection, or whatever.

The SO man is coming, The SO man is coming

Mine stops by the house every other week. I do have a shop, but 90% of my wrenching is private work right now. He's a great guy to deal with, and probably the #1 reason I've come to appreciate Snap On's line of tools as much as I do.

    Felt, Roll roofing, install questions

Doesn't the rubber roof usually just wrap down and serve as fascia too? Gutters would hide most of it, and you'd save a good bit without having to buy aluminum drip edge and fascia.

    Felt, Roll roofing, install questions

I would never have thought roll roofing would hold up that well in the SW heat. Maybe it's the winters here that does it in so quick?

ground rod hit rock need advise

All I have is rock around my shop. Had I known ahead of time that I could have put the rods in my footer, I would have. I ended up laying mine in little trenches then covering them up. Who knows how much "grounding" a rod is going to do in a pile of sandstone, but the inspector was happy with it.

    Turning off water heater

Electric heaters are a lot more efficient than gas when not being used since there isn't a cold flue sucking the heat out. I've had them shut off for a week before and still had hot water when I drained them. If there's no water being used, I can't see how you would save much turning it off...

Attached Garage Power - Long Run Stranded vs Solid

Can't pull romex through conduit... You could use 12-2 on 20A circuits for all three, or if you're using conduit, just pick up THHN. You'll want to use 20A breakers, unless you like making the 100' run to reset them every time you load the saw a little lol.

I saw that one too, and was just amazed. I've been working with the stuff for close to 15 years, and didn't know it was capable of that.

Galvanized pipe in the gas line....

I've spent a fortune on 1/4 turn ball valves. I think there were 2 shut offs total in the house, and they were old gate valves that leaked around the stem if they were touched. My gas is oily enough that the insides of the 60 year old lines I took apart look a little like a diesel exhaust...
