Alloy toes vs no protection boots? ***Edit

A few years ago I was moving my 180lb anvil when it and the stump it is secured to fell over onto my foot. I had on my steel toe Georgia boots and the anvil bent the steel portion down and it was touching my toes. Luckily my foot survived with no injury. Something heavier may have been a...

Gearwrench 90T 1/2" and 3/8"drives. After watching ProjectFarm's review on ratchets, i had to pick these up. The 3/8" 90t was hard to find locally. Most have the 84t now. I did find one at a Tractor Supply but its the 8" version instead of the 11" that i wanted. Love the handles on these.

    Favourite work boots?

Thanks. I'm on concrete in my shop 90% of the time but they serve multiple duties....... They are heavy (steel toe) and my legs/feet/knees get really tired. Time to start shopping around..........

    Favourite work boots?

I've never worn a wedge sole. Is there any advantage to those or just personal preference? My Georgia boots are steel toe and in my home shop, I'm working about steel, welding, plasma cutting, etc. I had my anvil fall over onto my foot one day and that steel toe saved my foot so I can't be...

New rear wheel bearings/races, gear oil and O2 sensors on my Silverado 2500. Gave my son another lesson on changing the oil and wipers on his truck. (8 quarts of 0w20 in a 5.3????? :yikes: ) Then we had to figure out why his bedcover was letting water in. Turns out the bed liner was allowing...

    Jet-15 Milling & Drilling machine?

I'm not sure yet. It's an estate sale. I'll find out more Saturday when I go look at it in person. They also have a small MYFORD lathe and a ton of tooling for both machines as well as a boat load of micrometers and other tools. The guy was a clock maker so none of it is heavy duty but I don't...

    Jet-15 Milling & Drilling machine?

I have found a JET-15 mill/drill locally that I am going to look at this weekend. It is identical to the one pictured (pictures are not of the one I'm looking at). I have never ran one but I've always wanted one to replace my regular old drill press. Is there anything specific I need to look...

    Welding prep question

Honestly, they would probably appreciate you NOT prepping it. I do a bit of welding myself and I prefer to prep everything so that I know what has been done and can do it to my standards. Just food for thought.......

    Penens vs Fleet vs Challanger

I am researching these Challenger tools since I picked up this tool board over the weekend. Are the "helmet logo" tools from the early 60's? Looks like I can fill most of this board off of Ebay but I sure do like the hunt at various flea markets/estate sales.

FREEBIE!!!!!! My wife's boss had this in his office. He isn't a tool guy but had bought this from an estate sale. I saw it and asked about buying it but he GAVE IT TO ME. Now I'm going to be searching for the tools to fill it out.

A/C in Garage - Added Benefits!

My problem is that I can't work in my shop without the doors open because it's half of our 2 car basement garage. I have to vent the welding fumes, grinding dust, plasma cutting fumes and heat from my propane forge all out or set off the C02 and smoke detectors. The wife loves that!
