The fieldstone you're putting up really adds character. Awesome build! Is the rest of it staying red or are you planning a different color. Can't wait to see the finished product inside and out.
Check out Nimrod's place. While it's more of a shed, it has a really cool vibe about it with the wood floor and hot rods with an old time feel. Along with Kiwi Kev's, it's one of my favorites.
I saw the Saber cabinets this past weekend at the West Coast Nationals car show and was very impressed with the quality and the affordability. They aren't blue, but still have a very nice two tone grey finish. IIRC, the owner told me he's considering offering them in blue or red in the future...
Thanks, N8. Powered by a 401 cu. in. Buick nailhead, my Kiwi friend Lloyd Wilson and I finished back in 2008. Now he has something to drive when he's here.
Cool shop, Breeze. I like the rustic outside and the stuff you have done inside that furthers that old time look (bell, Esso oil drip man, etc.). Nice Fairlane, too!
My Dad had one of those allen key socket sets, takes me back.

A couple of years ago I bought a new 60 gallon vertical dual cylinder air compressor from Lowes. It was bolted to a pallet and they used a forklift to load it in the back of my pickup. Now, I knew I wouldn't be able to get it out of my truck by myself so I had a buddy coming over the next day to...
Great transformation! From what you started with to how it is today is inspiring. Your solution to the garage door opening system is very creative and your wiring looks amazing.
Kudos to you, Doros.
Great shop space and cars. Whose front brakes did you put on the Charger? I have a '68 R/T in need of a brake upgrade and am interested in finding out what seems to work the best.

Great looking build. We were in your neck of the woods back in 2009 for Americarna and had a great time. The Taranaki is beautiful but then again, we think that's true of all of New Zealand.
From the pictures, it looks to me like you'll have to "tamper" with the old one anyway if you go for a high lift (everything needs to move up, not just the door tracks). The drive track for your standard opener needs to be positioned above the door for it to work right. It will need to be...
If you go for the high-lift door, see if your folks will spring for a Liftmaster 3800 jack-shaft garage door opener. They really maximize the benefits of a high-lift by eliminating the horizontal opener down the middle of the garage.
Ditto. The many threads with their pictures on this site have inspired me to start a second round of upgrades to my shop. The creativity and craftsmanship seen here is inspiring and humbling at the same time.
Thanks guys.

I was a junior in high school and my Dad had me remove the radiator from his '52 Olds to have it boiled out. When we got it back, I put it back in while he was at work but forgot about the transmission cooling lines that go into the bottom of the radiator. I figured I could drive the car around...
What a great shop to hang out and work in. Just an amazing collection of fine old hot rod and race equipment. Thanks for sharing.
I couldn't help but notice the row of New Zealand Hot Rod magazines in your magazine rack in the "library". I'm wondering if you know my friend Lloyd, Magoos Street...
