What things do you blast with abrasives?

Do vintage ping putters count? Glass beads.

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

I agree. At least one or two came with the logo plate separate and I had to peel and stick it on!

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

Great... Just noticed you can't reach the caster locks easily with the side box on. Anyway, I cut a 3/4" piece of MDF and gave it a few coats of shellac for a work surface.

    Handheld torch for bolts

Don't knock it till you try it. It's a $100 torch that hooks up to a $300 torch set you can buy at any welding supply and it'll turn a nut red in a few sconds without melting anything around it.

Ran to HF and got this magnetic power strip. Problem solved. I was going to try to relocate the original strip but as you can see it would take some intricate cutting.

    Handheld torch for bolts

Most smaller torches take forever to heat up a bolt... if you can even get that hot. I've mentioned it before in other threads, but I LOVE my Smith Little Torch. Hooks right up to your oxy/acetylene regulators and makes a beautiful little flame that can really pinpoint the bolt. The added...

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

I went and got the side chest over the weekend. I thought I'd post a few pics for those on the fence. In a prior post, I had my info wrong and claimed the locker had to be mounted on the left side -- that was not correct and I apologize. Either way, whatever you mount on the right side will...

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

I stand corrected! Just went and took a look at my locker and IT IS reversible. There are threaded inserts not only on the left side of it (so it could be mounted on the right side), but also on the right door jamb so you could reverse the door. I don't know why I thought it could only go on the...

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

I went in last night and took a good look. If you have the locker, which can only be mounted on the left side, you can only put the side chest on the right side, covering the outlets and more importantly the hole where the wall cord comes out. I'll have to do some drilling and send it out the back.

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

I'd say it's a pretty big design blip since the cabinet can only be mounted on the left side. I'm gonna take a drive and see what I can see.

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

Actually it's much simpler -- my name is Phil and I live near Milwaukee. Anyway, this post got me thinking about that side chest again. It's on sale for $219. The reason I didn't buy it in the past was because it would cover the power strip. I convinced myself that I can just live without the...

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

Interesting, I just went back and looked at menards.com and they changed it to "Recommended to fit virtually any cabinet 41" or wider ". I bought it for my 30" wide box a few months back and I KNOW it said 30" or wider back then. I checked that multiple times. Anyway, it works great on the 30"...

New Milwaukee M12 stubby impact wrenches announced for all you mechanics

I'm not blaming toolnut... but for the last month the product page has said "ships September 1st". It didn't say "ships when it's in stock" or "Est. Ship date: September 24th, 2018" like Acmetools. It said "Ships Sept. 1st". So I ordered from toolnut, taking their word on the ship date. That's...

New Milwaukee M12 stubby impact wrenches announced for all you mechanics

Nope. I ordered from Toolnut.com because they said it ships September 1st. Now the page says Out of Stock. I'm starting to think I got duped. If it doesn't ship tomorrow I'll probably cancel the order on principal. Will update...

No idea, maybe phone? I grilled the rep about that and he swears it's back there with someone's name on it.

New Milwaukee M12 stubby impact wrenches announced for all you mechanics

Just talked to my Milwaukee rep at HD. He said there is one 3/8 stubby M12 impact "in the back" that someone pre-ordered, ready for pickup. It's imminent!

ASTRO GIVEAWAY - Introducing the 65SL (The 40SL Successor)

My Smith Little Torch. It saves SO much oxy/acetylene and allows me to pinpoint the spot I want to heat, but at $130 it's a lot. A knockoff is $30 on eBay but I wouldn't trust a junky one. I can see a $60 Astro version being right in the sweet spot. BTW I have 3 40SLMAX lights and use them...

Alternative to shop press for bearing

Did you look on the end of the ball joint threaded shaft? Sometimes they accept an Allen wrench to hold it from spinning. Easiest way though is to just pry it downward from the top to keep it from spinning.

Tools a family member takes that they should NOT have

Anybody chattering tools is at least trying. I'm flattered when someone wants to use my stuff. There are fewer and fewer people who even give it effort these days. Encourage it. Look at it as a reason to upgrade.
