    Tekton ratchet experiences

I have that one. I'm not a pro, but I do a lot of wrenching. Mine has held up to beating on it with a dead blow and the 90 teeth has a nice smooth action. The best use I've had for the bent handle has been reaching the rear caliper bracket bolts on a Chevy 2500 when I couldn't get an impact in...

Stopped in Menards for some PB Blaster and this jumped out at me because we're always looking for a magnifying glass around the house. This is actually well made for what it is. Only wish it had a tweezer for splinters. $4.99 on clearance...

    Trusty-Cook Green 3-Pack, #S1, #S2, & #S3 for $49

How about lowering the free shipping cutoff to $50 as a GJ code? I'd be all over your two current deals but I don't need $100 worth of hammers and the shipping is a deal breaker for me...

Need home AC advice -- repair or replace

Hi, just wanted to pop in here and say thanks and give an update. I can't believe the collective knowledge of the people here! Anyway, I put off the salesman till Monday -- you guys have really put it in my head that what this company is doing is fundamentally dishonest. I'm going to spend the...

Need home AC advice -- repair or replace

Interesting thoughts from all of you.. thanks! I don't know my AC units, but the builder who built our house built it and lived in it for 5 years. From what I can tell, everything in the house is overbuilt and uses really high end stuff. I can't imagine that he cheaped out on the AC. To the guy...

Need home AC advice -- repair or replace

Hi all... I escaped the Tools board and made my way over here -- you can send me back when we're done here! ;-) Yesterday I had to have a tech come out and put 1.5 pounds of R22 into my system due to a leak. Same thing last summer. The unit is a Carrier and it was installed when the home was...

When do you use a plier wrench? Why isn't it self locking like the cobra?

Can't remember who, but someone here once said it perfectly: "it's neither a good pliers or a good wrench".

I've got that one and it does work great, but I was surprised it doesn't have a cap so you can take the oil in to recycle. You have to pour it into another can to transport the oil.

    Three drawer portable tool box

Never heard of it before your post. USA, lifetime warranty... give it a shot. Only reservation with the portability is it'll rattle a lot louder than a toolbag and it weighs 22 pounds empty.

Astro 78830 - Remove Hubs & Drums W/out It Costing an Arm & a Leg

Ordered mine from JDTCo; will be here Saturday. Chris, can this be used on a rotor you're planning on reusing? Does it warp or mar the disc?

    Spring Pullers

I should mention, it does kind of chew up the pennies. Gets kind of pricey!

    Spring Pullers

I'm sure someone invented this long before me, but I invented it after I shot a spring at my head years ago. I just put the end of the spring in a vise, bend it back and forth, and add the pennies. Then just place it where you want it and pull out the pennies with a pliers.

which style long reach needle nose do you prefer

Hi, it's time for a new pair of long reach needle nose pliers. I'm curious what style you guys prefer -- the traditional like the Proto or the double-jointed style like the Crescent. Or maybe they each have their purpose? The two pics below are just from quick searches -- would love to hear any...
