What products are surprised HF doesn't offer?

Under hood service tray, like the Blue Point one. I especially like that this one is cantilevered out. A lot of the China clones have the post much closer to the center.

$400 on Craigslist today. Really nice guy who makes 10x the money breeding dogs than wrenching.

My custom colored HF 42" tool box

When I first saw the pic I immediately thought you traded drawers with someone.

    Latest Matco flyer

How do they get away with charging over double for stuff? That capacitor jump pack is $192 on Amazon vs $425 from Matco. The Bionic Face Shield they're selling for $47 is under $25 on Amazon... and it's the crappy one without scratch coating and anti-fog. The 3 piece line clamp set (appears to...

    Cutting / Heating torch decisions

I can't say enough good stuff about the Smith Little Torch on a portable setup like the Lincoln linked above. You'll get so much more run time and you can really pinpoint a part you're heating. https://www.amazon.com/Smith-Little-Torch-Soldering-Welding/dp/B000T43L30

    HF blast cab

The good news is that blast cabinets are pretty simple. I've had a cheap HF one and now a really nice Trinco. They both took air from my compressor, sucked up media, and blasted it at the object. There are really no moving parts, although the Trinco has a dust collector. Both units tend to cloud...

Christmas tool thread! What did santa bring you?

My wife and I gave each other influenza for Christmas. 101 degree fevers since Tuesday night and still going strong.

Pneumatic impacts are NOT dead yet !

That impact should have a button that locks the anvil so you can use it to break nuts loose. Sort of like how the M12 ratchets can be used like a manual ratchet when it doesn't have enough "beans" to get a nut started.

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Love American Science and Surplus. I live a few miles from the store and get all my kid's Christmas presents there.

    Lift (scissor) delivery tools/techniques

You have a nice epoxy floor -- can you put something under the lift so the weight and movement doesn't ruin it? If it makes you feel better, here's how my 4-post Atlas came... I believe it was something like 14 feet long and 1700 pounds if I remember right. Came right off the back of the semi...

All Tekton tools are 50% off at Meijer for Black Friday. I've found that mixed in with the China junk, there are some really nice tools, including their 90-tooth ratchets (made in Taiwan and pretty nice quality, but not sold at Meijer) and their USA-made pliers. The USA made stuff is really...

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

Called quality craft. They charge $12 a lock! You can buy a matching set of 3 on Amazon for $12 but I didn't want to risk bad quality or fitment. What number do you need -- I'd be glad to send you one if I have it.

What's on your tool wish list?

    Masterforce Tool Boxes 24" Deep

To anybody who bought a set and got mismatched locks: I bought the top chest, bottom chest, side locker, and side chest and got 4 different lock numbers. I got fed up with having 4 different keys, so I went and got a matching keyed-alike set. I now have one each of unused 1201, 1205, and 1209...

Do you use an air hammer? I use mine a LOT, and haven't found a corded or cordless replacement.

Advice on how to deal with grandparent house clean out

This makes me sad. If he was anything like me, he loved those tools, and probably researched and agonized over each tool purchase. I hope they go to someone who can see the usefulness in them. Drill bits and files are something you can never have enough of!

Tekton 90T Flex Ratchets now available

I actually abandoned my cart yesterday because I didn't want to pay shipping. Can confirm that once you make an account, shipping is indeed free.

Tekton 90T Flex Ratchets now available

From the Tekton site: Working Handle Lengths To be clear and consistent about the size of our ratchets (and breaker bars), we use the actual working length (center of drive tang to end of handle), not the overall length of the tool. This avoids any misleading overstatement of size or capability...
