    Changes coming to HFT.

The Masterforce stuff was the same as USA Craftsman, so it's no longer being made. As they sell out of it, Gearwrench is taking over.

Are Petersen Era Vise Grips That Much Better?

Got a big pair of Petersens For $0.50 at a garage sale last summer, so at that deal they're great! I actually really like them. They feel very solid. Would definitely seek them out if I needed another pair. I also have a Husky pair (newer) and they seem ok too, if you need something now.

    Ball joint problem

x2! Learned something today! Never have seen the covers. Never have bought a loaded control arm, got custom ones made for my Jeep with replaceable BJs and bushings. This doesn't even compare to any of the dumb things I've done. This ain't even dumb.

    Random Snap On Questions

The SK stuff is junk, send it to me and I'll make sure it gets thrown away properly, don't want you to have to deal with that toxic mess. :D

Ratchets: Quick release vs no quick release. Which do you prefer?

One thing that I always like on a ratchet is the thumb wheel, like what Challanger put on there. Haven't seen many others put a thumbwheel on a normal ratchet.

Ratchets: Quick release vs no quick release. Which do you prefer?

No preference really. As long as the socket/extension stays on, I'm good.

    Ball joint problem

If you can get the nut on there by a few threads and start tightening it, that will pull everything into alignment. Happens when I replace the UBJs on my Jeep. Is the BJ sitting flush with the knuckle? I'm thinking either the stud length or taper is wrong.

    Sears Going Down Fast

I actually got an A in econ, thank you very much. You didn't read my post well. I said that HF does have a cheap line and that's where the Indian tools come into play. I'll take a Pitts Pro ratchet any day over a Chinese Craftsman RP wrench. The HF ain't an SK or Snapon, sure (have both), but to...

    Sears Going Down Fast

I bet they might start making more of a distinction between non pro and pro. At least now, they don't really differentiate the two lines boldly enough even though there is a very big quality difference. I'd like to see them take the pro vs non pro system into the line beyond hand tools- right...

Regular guys, what's your Sears alternative?

Menards or Advance Auto for Gearwrench. HF for socket sets sometimes. May try one of their ratchets some day. Garage sales. If I just need a socket or wrench, Autozone. Actually their whole Duralast line seems pretty nice.

Is there such a thing as a driver-drill driven C-clamp?

C clamp ball joint presses are like that. They have a 3/4" bolt head on the stud (at least the ones I have rented), I use my impact on them. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OCFIAQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

I've had great luck with my 4 ton one from HF. It's about 4 years old. Better than my Craftsman 3 ton I had before it. I'd be interested in the Daytona one if it can lift into the 23-24" range.

    Gearwrench sockets?

That's not really a good deal for those sets. You should be able to get those for around $20 a set.

    Gearwrench sockets?

That's a decent deal, so $25 avg per set. What are the specifics? Deepwells?

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

The main cuts were the ones behind the outlet covers, had to rip some in half. And the ends.

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

http://www.harborfreight.com/7-in-portable-wet-cut-tile-saw-69231.html 7" Wet tile saw- solid pass. Used it to do a backsplash in the kitchen and it worked great. It didn't seem like it wanted to kill me. Quite the opposite- cut like butter. Might not be the greatest for someone that tiles...

    Sentimental Tool, just one?

Any of my grandpas stuff. Old SK/Snap on/Craftsman sockets, an old =V= Craftsman 1/2" dr ratchet, an old SK 1/2" drive ratchet, 20 tooth Snap on 3/8" ratchet, =V= 3/8" breaker bar, another 1/2" Craftsman breaker bar, and a 18" old Craftsman adjustable wrench those are the main things he gave me...
