Storage/drawer ideas for under work bench

My slow shop progress is creeping along. Gonna build a big work bench soon. I want to incorporate some sort of drawers/cabinets under some of it. I’ve been looking at Yukon boxes from harbor freight. Also wondered about more of a traditional roll around box. Or maybe something designed for...

Thanks. That’s what I’m going to do. Tape and paint the seam tomorrow after work and paint the stripe Saturday morning. Probably take the paint off Saturday afternoon.

    paint tape advice/suggestions

I finished part of my shop walls with good smooth sided plywood. I very briefly sanded it, primed, and put on 2 coats of paint. I am going to paint a stripe around the building for looks. I am worried about getting a good seal/line with tape. I don't have the shop part sealed up yet so I...

    Sewage pump/pit

I have been Debating if/how about putting a bathroom in my shop. I do not have enough fall to get it to my septic system naturally so I would have to have a pump. A guy I know recently had a pipe bored in and has a little pump in his shop. Anyone have any thoughts, opinions, ideas? The...

    Garage door help/opinions.

I thought I had a free 8x7 garage door to go between shop and cold storage side. That appears to have fell through. Now I wish it was bigger but too late to change. I got quotes on a door and they’re basically all $1600-$2000. Higher than I expected. It needs to be a vertical lift, or lift...

    3/4 plywood to metal transition

18’ ceiling. It is a post framed building on top of a 2’ cement wall. I ran 2x4’s horizontally every 2’ to attach plywood/metal. I’m thinking I may just use a j channel. It might be the cleanest look.

    3/4 plywood to metal transition

Thanks for the ideas. I wanted something I could potentially hang or nail stuff off of. I think I am going to paint it grey…maybe even a stripe of some sort to break up the color. The metal above will just be white barn siding. Or whatever you want to call it.

    3/4 plywood to metal transition

I am putting up 6 ft of 3/4 plywood on my shop walls and then metal above it all the way to the ceiling. Is their something I should use to transition between the two? I will obviously have J channel at the ceiling. Was sure if I wanted that at the bottom though? Seems like it’ll just be...

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

Boy this motor stuff is over my head. It intrigues me though. I have a motor shop getting a 1.5 hp motor ready for it. It was slightly used and he was going to go through it first. He thought it would be done later this week and would help me wire it up. He thought the starter/heaters would...

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

From what I have figured out the pump and controls were not three phase. I have the parts book and it does not list those parts any different no matter what motor you have. You could buy this saw single or 3 phase when it was new.

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

And for what it’s worth, I consider myself pretty good with electric. Not motors or 3 phase though.

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

It does have a switch to end the cut. It has a switch panel to turn the saw on/off and also coolant on/off. It also has a switch to end the cut

WIFI to the barn using a CAT6 Cable???

May look at ubiquiti stuff. I recently put a dream router in my house….an access point up stairs and one in the shop. It’s been great….all the same network and was super easy to set up.

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

Will some of this stuff need changed too? Motors definitely aren’t my strong spot.

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

It is a big saw. It has a hydraulic cylinder for down pressure and also a spring that can adjust so I don’t think a little variance in the motor weight would matter too much.

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

Thanks for the replies. I’ll probably go the new motor route. That seems the simplest. This is WAY more saw than I need but the price was right. It has a 3hp motor on it. I’ve seen some other used ones with 2hp. Would that work ok? This is strictly for hobby use

band saw motor replacement 3ph - 1 ph

I've been looking for a new horizontal band saw. I found a good deal on a wellsaw 1118. The guy said it was single phase.....my wife picked it up for me.....it is 3 phase. I am pretty good at electrical work but know nothing about 3 phase. Do I just look for a motor with similar specs as the...
