    Bandsaw Tire Alternative?

High jack away. The more info the better. What's the make and model of your horizontal bandsaw? I have an old Rockwell 7721 that has 5 7/8" wheels(they probably consider them 6") and it has rubber tires, so I am guessing yours probably had them at one time. I got this thing at the local Habitat...

    Bandsaw Tire Alternative?

Friction tape, that's awesome! Thank you. I really have never heard of the stuff before. What section of the hardware store does one find this stuff, electrical, plumbing or just the tape section? Also, how many times did you go around the wheel, many times to cushion the blade or is one or two...

    Bandsaw Tire Alternative?

Ok, let me start out by saying that I am not wealthy at all. In fact, currently I am quite poor due to a work related injury. Well, I have this small, very old Craftsman bandsaw that needs tires, and I currently can't justify the price of new tires. So, my question is, do any of you have an...

Welding: what do you use for a chipping hammer?

I have two of the smaller HF needle scalers and they are great. I used them to clean glue, caulk and graffiti off of stone and some brick surfaces. It worked where nothing else would. Definitely a HF pass as far as I'm concerned.

    Tools you've found

Who I'd like to hear from are the dudes from the lock up/ community service crowd that have to clean up the highway. I bet they have all kinds of cool finds, but probably have to put them in the trash.

Is this Husky compressor still good?

I have to say that I am impressed with that little compressor. My nephew and I ran two HF mini needle scalers for three weeks straight with that little thing. Sure, we had to stop every so often to let it build up, but it didn't **** out like I was expecting.

    Tools you've found

Most recent was a 8" 3/8 Crescent socket extension. It was just laying in the middle of a dirt road and it looks like new. In the past I found a large SO flat tip screwdriver. My best finds have been in dumpsters though. The company office was in a business park with hundreds of them. The...

    Craigslist Kennedy box

Very cool, I have that same top box. I bought it with a Kennedy lower about eight years ago for $150. I love it, but I need something bigger. Also, I'm pretty sure Kennedy still makes that box, and can supply you with replacement faceplate, but it will probably run more than what you got the box...

Is this Husky compressor still good?

You might as well just buy it from the source, and save some money, you could also use a 20% off coupon. http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/air-compressors/2-horsepower-8-gal-125-psi-portable-air-compressor-69667.html...

    my score today!

I would suggest getting some vinyl mat, stick the stickers to that and then just cut them out. Slap them on the old box. No harm no foul. Then if you change your mind or want to sell the box you can keep your stickers.

    This Vise Anything Special?

Funny thing with the one I got, the guy selling it on the Sacramento CL listed it as a Fowler Vise. I looked up Fowler on the interweb and found that they made high quality stuff and was USA made, but I could not find anything about their Vises. Got it home and was inspecting it a little closer...

    This Vise Anything Special?

I'd definitely buy that for $25, since I got mine for $75 eight years ago. Pretty stout vise and nice tight tolerance. Only wish it was made in USA.
