    Snapon lock replacement

I will try to hunt down a SO dealer. I got no response at all, no phone call, no return email no NOTHING from LDV. This is the similar response I received from SO years ago when it came to replace a wrench that snapped off. The guy on the truck wouldn't even stop for me. I'm just...

    Snapon lock replacement

I'll be trying the locksmith option later today. LDVUSA is apparently not interested in helping at all. It's cool though, I had a similar experience with snapon in the past. The little guy doesn't matter, at all. Regardless, I'll be posting what happens. Thanks for all the help.

    Snapon lock replacement

I have been given a tool box with a key. First of all, I would like to replace the lock itself as I'm not too sure who else has keys. Second, I want an extra key because I lose things like keys. I really don't want to destroy the box because I lost the key. What I have is in the picture...

anyone have the skinny on the new dewalt hand tools?

Cheap chinese garbage? Dewalt used to be decent quality...the drills and saws are from mexico and china. You can order the plastic gear that stripped out...sure..why? Buy something decent to start with. Let's remember...stanley got their hand slapped by branding things like sockets "USA"...

Interesting old Snap On ratchet. Made in Canada, stamped LOANER

Really cool...the Canada SO factory must be huge. Around work there are many large SO boxes that say Made in Canada on them various colors and sizes. Loaner cracks me up. Apparently it became a permanent loaner.

    S/O Ratchet, A Bit Unusual...But Rare?

It's cool....but really not worth $300. One of a kind? I think not. Maybe someone works at the factory....or it's a cheap chinese copy of the logo placed on a ratchet...hard to say. I could see $60, not $300.

How the Chinese can screw up a basically good product

No innovation? Cut up Chevys and Fords for Metal? 14 hr work days for children ? Insane pollution levels? No quality control? Dumping of products? No rights for workers? Corrupt government? I have no idea...

American vs Chinese Craftsman RP (pics)

I have used chinese ****, because my stuff was elsewhere and it's what was around. sockets crack, wrenches strip out (either the bolt or the wrench itself). Not in my tool box, plain and simple. I have had breaker bars on the USA Craftsman RP wrenches, not one problem. The nails for the...

Ultimate "Show" Wrench Set - Snapon 24 Kt Gold Wrench set on ebay

I think I'd want a date code... or a better look at the goods. I have heard stuff like this is faked and people get ripped off big time. It's only $200...for SO I would think it's more valuable than that... Just my $0.02 on the matter.

    usa craftsman

I don't really care about the future value...I'll most likely be dead if the value goes up. I just can't stomach chinese garbage, especially labeled Craftsman. Makes me sick. When Sears goes under with KMart, there will be no warranty . Like Penncraft and PowrKraft, warranty is a part of...

What Tool Brands do Professional Mechanics in China Use..?

Yes....it's called cut up Chevys and Fords. Seriously though... Matco has a line of tools for sale ONLY in China called SATA. Like Urrea in Mexico. The website has tools that look like the chinese craftsman garbage. I'm waiting to see what happens to the US car market when they start...

    Walmart wrenches.

Wal Mart wrenches...never seen that. Hmmm...I have some PennCraft sockets, Sears branded wrenches, PowrKraft (remember Montgomery Wards?). I'll have to keep an eye out for these.

    Thumbs up to IRWIN Tools

I second this sentiment. The stuff doesn't even look right anymore...pure chinese **** with the irwin logo on it.

    Hot Rod Garage Scenes

Check out the TOYOTA logo on the (what looks like an engine block) on the lower left of the upper left picture (the one with the dude working on the wooden bench). The thermos is a nice touch too...lol. See the vintage craftsman box on the left side? look down. Hot rods indeed.

    mac 100 tooth ratchets

Just from the quick look, it looks really cheaply made. For that kind of cash I would expect a metal handle that's long. My $0.02.
