Other than a bonfire any suggestions on what to do with . . . .

Thank you. No kids here, maybe grand-kids in a few years. Thanks for all the replys. These are KD spruce 2x6's. I thought about the table top suggestion, but they are kind of soft. The tools get stored in drawers, shelf brackets maybe. Please keep the suggestions coming . . . Best...

Other than a bonfire any suggestions on what to do with . . . .

It seems a shame to burn the 18" ones. The birdhouse idea is a good one, but that will use only a few. Thank you.

Thanks! Looking forward to the truss delivery. We hired a crane crew to set the trusses. I may take the day off from work to watch them be set. A flat rate of $880. for four hours of crane service (This is MA), no charge for drive time. $100./ hour after the four. Regards, .

    The Road to Nowhere . . .

Day two. Sure was hot for the guys. We had some rain last night which helped cool things off a little, but it will still be a scorcher today. Not much more can be done until Friday when the trusses arrive. .

    Additional Attic Flooring Support

My trusses are arriving next Friday so I'm looking at this thread again. It would seem a very good plan to use the bracing at the outer non-floor area as the nailed floor helps to stabilize the center. My trusses are 35' overall w/ 31' inside, 24" OC. The attic floor is 16', this leaves 7'6"...

Opinion on Low-Cost Media Blasting Set-up

I have the siphon feed tube as shown and feel it worked well for my needs. Instead of using a bucket I used a large storage container. Melted a couple of small holes near the top w/ a hot nail and used tywraps to make a loop holder for the tube so it didn't fall down into the bin. Also, I...

    New shop build in MA..

I was told to put plastic sheeting over the concrete floor and water it twice a day for a month. This is how it is done in commercial shops and helps it slow cure which builds the strength up even more. It must me nice to see it take shape. Regards, .

    New shop build in MA..

The weather is slowing down my build also as the framer is delayed on his current job. Mine is next. The foundation and floor have been poured and covered for over a month now so it should be good and hard. Here is a shot of the cabriolet I drove for a month in the UK back in 2005. It had...

Framing will start week after next. Today marks three weeks after the floor and pads were poured. I took the plastic off the pads and utilized them for the first time. (Updated the pic in post #52) Still watering the floor twice a day except for when it rains. Regards, .

    Concrete Apron

I'm not an expert at all but I don't think a board would work well and it would be difficult to remove. How about tar paper? Then you can seal the seam later. I do have a suggestion though which I wish I had done. How about setting a 4" PVC pipe in the apron so you can pass your garden hose...

I'm in Sturbridge. Electric heat? I have a 220 unit set to keep the attached garage (24x32) at 45 degrees - it sure uses a lot of juice.

    The Road to Nowhere . . .

Put a divert-er drain along the front and spread some T-base today. Used the Dodge as a roller and packed it good in case we get some more storms like yesterday. I've been watering the concrete twice a day for maximum hardness (that's what I was told to do). Still waiting on the builder...
