Is there a good, all-inclusive source for replacement vise jaws?

Thanks everyone. I'm beginning to think the only practical answer is a dremel & a file...and re-groove what I have.

Is there a good, all-inclusive source for replacement vise jaws?

I have a small Dunlap (Sears, right?) 5244 that's on my welding table, and it fits its purpose just fine. That said, the jaws are pretty worn and I'd sure like to find another set. I've looked high & low and can't find anything anywhere that will fit. Is this size unavailable, or am I just...

Weldor’s opinion on this Jackson Hood

I know the OP said he wasn't in the budget range for a Lincoln Viking, but I have to say: Best helmet I've ever owned is my 2450. The clarity is phenomenal. OP doesn't say what kind of welding he does, but if it's TIG, the puddle is crystal clear under this hood. And the headgear is...

    Praise For Lincoln Electric.

Likewise: my 2450 was flawless for about 18 months, but started flashing me. Lincoln was backordered on a replacement sensor module, so they sent a whole new helmet. Wonderful service & greatly appreciated.

    Technique suggestions

I learned the hard way with ss screws that held the floorboards of my boat in place. I got "smart" and power drove them with a bit in a drill. What a mess.

Which breaker panel is most common?

QO panels have plated copper busworks. Homeline is aluminum. Read the specs...it's true. I'll take the copper....

Saw set date ? and what is the use of this 3/4 Pipe U bend?

I've seen malleable iron 180-degree unions, but never a "close" like that in the picture.

Tool Deliveries Left on State Highway near Mailboxes

I guess I'm lucky: We have a place in Maine that's got a 300 foot driveway through the woods, off of a 1/2 mile dirt fire road. FedEx delivers to our door.

    Small engine mechanic question

I'm going to say it: If you're not making a living with your tools, HF will likely suit you just fine. You could likely buy 3/8 deep & shallow, in metric & imperial AND all the same in 1/4" (that's 8 sets) and be out the door for under $100. Say what you will...

    Repairing a Drill Press Head

Do you need that broken-through threaded hole? If so, I would grind it clean & TIG braze a nut into that position

    Why does 60/40 solder exist?

63/37 is eutectic. That alone is enough to call it "best" for electronics.

    Using a 3" cutoff/multi-material saw with Roloc

Talk you out of buying a tool? I think you may have come to the wrong web forum! :) My only reservation is that I'm not a big fan of using a tool in a fashion for which it wasn't intended. In my experience, doing so leads to one of three outcomes: 1.) you damage the tool 2.) you hurt...

    HF Fortress pancake compressor

To me, a compressor is only as good as it's CFM rating vis-a-vis my needs. My question would be "how much cleaning do you do?"...i.e. are you blowing air for 30 seconds? 2 minutes? More? 2.7 cubes is a very small number, but if it works for you, then I'd say "sure! go for it". What's the...
