What would you purchase from Harbor Freight with 25% off?

25% off, no exclusions? I would buy the 15" sidebox for my toolbox. I don't need it for $279, but for $70 off I could surely want it! Are they sending out such coupons? I've not received any such thing....

    Today's junkyard find

Is who / what "on here"? Are you asking about the people I referenced who are running these saws slower? One was a machine ship I frequented years back and the other was a guy I met & befriended after a CL deal. Neither are members of GJ as far as I know.

    Today's junkyard find

That's an old King-Seeley from the very late '50s, sold under contract to Sears. Decent machine & pretty robust. I know a couple of people who have changed the pulley ratio to slow it down for metal cutting...with very satisfactory results. I have the '40s-era forerunner 103.0103

I can't weld and need an alternative

So the rod part goes through the turbo housing and that link piece is welded on? Is that the totality of the project? I'm 1 hour east in NJ, and if that's the total scope of the job, this is a 5 minute gig. I'm not a pro welder, but my SS TIG work doesn't **** by any means. If you're...

Honest question...not trying to be a jerk or troll: Why keep the all of the handles? The storage idea is cool, but why? Like you, I rarely need the handle (I have 4 grinders)...but on the INfrequent times that I do use a (single) handle, I do so. Which is to say "I need one". The day will...

240v through thermostat wire rated for 150v

Amps determines the copper size. Volts speaks to the dielectric of the insulation. While you might stay lucky for a long time, I would not personally run 240V through wire with a 150V insulation.

    TIG welding regulator question

Come to think of it, all I really need is this flow valve......I can "Y" off the low pressure port I already have. Any idea what this is called (by itself) or where I can buy one? I searched a bit but didn't fit such...

    TIG welding regulator question

Correct. But before I buy one, I figured if the port was a low-pressure port all I need is a few fittings and I can mod the regulator I have. After all, you don't really need 2 flow controllers & ball floats. Determining total flow is a pretty simple matter. But it's a moot point. If that...

    TIG welding regulator question

Here's a photo of the typical single-feed CGA-580 regulator that I (and I suppose a lot of you, too) own. What I'd like to know is what this plugged port on the back is. Is it an alternate high-pressure port, or low pressure port? Yes, I could stick a gauge in it and know for sure, but it's...
