The Lugzsonian - A Virtual Tour

You'd get a bit of a ribbing in the locker room!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did some maintenance on the Brick this AM--before the heat sets in. Found that my tire guy had tightened the lugnuts on my spare holder handtight, if at all. Wheel was about to fall off (I better check the torque on the rest of the wheels). That explains the rattle coming from the wayback on the...

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

Believe it or not, the Hippie is extremely OCD when it comes to tools. My bucket organizer is just that--an organizer. I tend to get a bit bent out of shape if someone borrows a tool from the shop and doesn't put it back exactly where they found it.

The Lugzsonian - A Virtual Tour

See user name. I don't recall the Stubby, but I do remember the Popeil Pocket Fisherman. It goes a little further by incorporating the reel into the rod/grip.

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

I believe that there are five of them in my plumbing Bucket Buddy. This is one of the three that haven't been opened.

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

Just buy the real thing and never whine about it again. Aluminum handle, carbide cutter. My tubing and pipe cutters are Ridgid.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Well, not in the shop, but overhead: Joseph OR airshow opened today. These guys have been doing formation flying all day long--sometimes up to eight planes. No idea what the plane is, but it's loud... until the B17 flew over. Now, THAT is loud. I struggled to get my phone out in time to get...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I realized two things today: 1) I was carrying fifty pounds of cow-****-reinforced mud on The Brick. While this looks good (to me), it's a lot of weight. B) I was running short on space to store fresh mud. Now, don't get too worried--I just used the brewery electric power washer to knock...

What are some of the tools manufacturers could make, but don't make?

Y'know, that tool I need for that job that I can never find the right tool for.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Laid down four gallons of weed killer. Did some of it in "the back forty", which is covered in hardened cheat grass. Spent ten minutes picking cheat grass seeds out of my boots. I'll throw the socks away. I need to find the pair of cheatgrass gaiters I had made from canvas duck when I worked in...

    Shop made forklift attachments thread

^Shoot--we sent the cage from a IBC tote to the scrap yard a few years back. That would have been a perfect use for it. Oh, well. Since the tote rots out in the sun, I probably can find another.

More Whatzits--Can we make this the official Whatzit thread?

Double-D end. No idea what for.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Shop finally cooled down some. Liquid welder applied. Hot melt metal gun did its job. I'd intended to slap some paint on there, but then looked at that rest of this POS and thought "Why waste paint on that?". It'll last another year or two--what do you expect from an $80 hand truck?

That would likely be an insulating shellac for magnet wire--windings in motors, coils, etc.

Which toyota adapter for this brake bleeder?

I would not want to leave water in my tool lines. I blow them out. First use afterwards, I'll give the reservoir a quick rinse with fresh brake fluid and run a bit of brake fluid through the lines to be sure there's no contaminants in there--but I'm using a pressure bleeder.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

After getting a bunch of pub and brewery stuff done this AM, I have some time to putter this afternoon. I'm pretty sure those axles support things on this cheap-**** hand truck aren't supposed to look like that. The real problem, 'though, as I learned this morning, is that if you bend over to...

Which toyota adapter for this brake bleeder?

Does pressure vs. vacuum make a difference with ABS? Never had any, so wouldn't know. I sometimes forget some crazy folks like to drive these new-fangled rigs with all kinda' electronical stuff.
