Old Hog Shed to Shop Conversion. Where to Start!

Yes, I’ll be adding collar ties toward the peak, it’s easy while it’s all open. There weren’t any to start with but can’t hurt. The original rafters ties that connected the walls, weren’t exactly functional. Talk about a cobbled mess, but the building is 70ish years old and hasnt fallen over...

Old Hog Shed to Shop Conversion. Where to Start!

Done a bit of work on the shed. Ran 2 10” lvl beams the 30’ length of the shed and removed 2 of the sets of posts. The ceiling is now at 9’ with a center tray so I can put a couple shop fans recessed in the center of the room. Working on wiring, doors, and windows now. Then insulation will go...

Segmented retaining wall will probably be the most cost effective. Call a landscaping company with a good reputation if you are hiring out the work.

    Driveway Edging

Go to Kearney fireplace stone and patio center. See what blocks they carry. I’ve found box store products to be soft and inconsistent. I work with these types of products often and a company like unilock or similar spend a lot of time and money on creating s consistent durable product.

Wanting to rent a towable lift, any advice?

There’s a rental outfit around me that rents 50’ lift for $250ish a day. It’s a family run business though, and their rates are always less than the national guys. As far as towing, I don’t know what they weigh. Looks like journeys come with 2 tow ratings 2.4l = 1000lbs and 3.6l = 2500lbs. I...

Snap On First Gen Contour Grip Colors?

Yep, I see those second gen handles in all the colors in the catalogs. But the first gen catalogs don’t reference colors from what I can tell.

I started changing my own oil...

I had an employee who though his car was out of oil because him and his buddy couldn’t see any when he opened the fill cap. You guessed it, filled it up.

Snap On First Gen Contour Grip Colors?

Can anyone tell me what colors the first gen contour grip screwdrivers came in? I’ve seen black, red, green, and pearl white. One not sure if the green and pearl white were special order/limited release though. I can’t seem to find the colors referenced in the old catalogs. Maybe I’m looking...

What's a decent quality chainsaw with good online parts availability?

Go with one of the big guys, stihl, husqvarna, echo. They continue to make parts for models long after they have been discontinued. Online parts get more complicated but if you had a good dealer near you that would solve that problem. I’ve got more saws than I’d like to admit. I gravitate...
