Powder coating, spray booth? Show yours

Not seen a home brew one yet. I need one too. Infact I used to do A LOT of home PCing. It is a mess somewhat but not bad. But I hate wasting perfectly good powder. I will set up and be powder coating in my shipping container if I ever get it cleaned out.

Need help cutting aluminum sheet -- design project

lol, funny, never heard "jump shear". Stomp shear yes but not jump shear. Intresting. On a budget buy some power shears like KET or others out there. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_power-tools+cutting-shears

    tube prep

Doesn't matter as long as the aluminum is CLEAN. Especially for TIG. I still would stainless steel wire brush it after belt sander debur just to make sure its all good before weld. I would clean the tube with 91% alcohol as well before grinding it.

    I got a new toy

I know exactly what you mean! I had to raise my header 12". Got it done and well worth it! I added the new header in WITHOUT taking the old 12" beam down first and without removing the garage door. The new header is much stronger built in, then I removed the old after the new beam was...

An interesting T-Bolt fastener for mills

Cool tooling ideas. Dig the T nut swivel for sure. Only thing I've never liked about a shop resurfacing a head on a Bridgeport is table sag from the weight of the table and component on the table once it gets past 1/2 the table on the "Y" ways. Especially on an old warn BP. I've measured table...

My first set of wrenches were craftsman metric for my bmx bike. Still have that set to this day.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Here's my bolt storage box. It's a 56" KRL Snappy. I keep most of my hardware in it and some powder coated parts for a project. I have a blue Snappy that is identical and a 72" snappy as well.

Show me your shovel and long handled tool storage

Just finished mine in my sea container a few days ago. I hac a roll of camping rope for years and decided to use it for a way to tie things in the container if necessary. I pooled it through all the welded tie hooks in the container. I taughted it as much as possible and tied if off at the...

    Logan 1400 Lathe

Great lathe, light duty but a great little lathe. I had a 1946 bought from the family of the original owner after he passed away at age 91. I had it for 3 years then sold it to buy bigger, then never did. Still need one to this day lol. I have every single Logan attachment you could purchase in...

    Show me your ANVIL

I have two 70lb anvils. One I call my Black Sweedish beauty. She's in the neighborhood of 80 years to as old as 120 years old I believe from the website I found. They are still being made today. My other is an old one as well but not in near as good a shape. It's my beater anvil. My black beauty...

    Lust for Lista

Being a machinist and in the aircraft aerospace industry for nearly 30 years I've had a lust for Lista's for decades. But those are for deep walleted people who can buy new. Used ones can be gotten for cheap especially surplused. My company throws out perfectly good older ones ALL the time. And...

Why I buy from Harbor Freight - No bashing!

OP. I only read your first post. Bottom line YOU buy what YOU want to buy and everybody else can go pound sand if they don't like it period. No need to explain why you like to buy HF stuff to ANYONE. Let the haters hate and be miserable humans. I bought from HF yesterday, and going back today...

What are you guys lining your garage walls with?

My garage/shop is just bare studs. I'd like to cover it with something white and not have to paint. Home Depot sells this thing about 1/16 or maybe thicker fiberglass in a 4'x8' sheet. Those would be great to make a white wall with an easy to clean surface. But I'm too greedy to give up the...
