Wall plates are set, ceiling beams are up, and the roof structure is starting to take shape.

All ceiling beams are up, and next comes the roof structure! There was a stretch where the lab looked rougher with every step, but now it’s taking shape stronger than ever. Can’t wait to see this dream spot fully come together. 🦓🦓🦓

The Lab update: Another baby step forward—ceiling beams are up! Next up, gotta get them locked in place. Slowly but surely, it's all coming together.

Wish I could move faster, but no way I’m taking shortcuts. Hoping everything comes together in time to park my cars there by next fall.

Since I’m doing this project for myself, I really want to make sure it’s done right and built to last. No shortcuts — just taking my time to get it solid. Appreciate the support, and I’ll definitely keep sharing the progress.

Since I’m aiming for the same ceiling height across all the spaces, had to cut out new holes for the ceiling beams. One step closer to leveling things up in the mancave.

Thanks! I’m definitely happy with how the concrete pour turned out. I’m taking my time with this build — don’t wanna rush it, just wanna make sure everything is rock solid for the long run.

I’m still debating that myself. Open air would be awesome, but with freezing temps in the winter, I’d rather have separated spaces so I don’t need to keep everything heated to a comfortable living temperature, just the main areas.

Took down another inner wall, and now the main mancave space feels way bigger. The place is really opening up! I’m still on the fence about the old wooden frame—I actually like the way it looks, but it’s a bit too far gone. Probably gonna end up ripping it out and later rebuild something similar...

Wooden forms are off, and the concrete at the top of the walls turned out solid and smooth. The structure is stronger and more stable than ever.

I’m experiencing a slight delay with my roofer since he’s super busy with winter coming up. So there will be about 3 weeks between pouring the concrete and installing the ceiling beams, and another 2 weeks before the roof structure goes on.

Had to tackle the uneven top part of the garage walls to make sure everything lines up right. I’m going for consistent floor levels and ceiling height across all the garages, so this step was key. In some sections, added extra building blocks, and in others, built custom wooden forms for pouring...

Making some progress — getting the building frame in place! For the main mancave space, we’re replacing two old doors with a fresh new entrance and a big window. Gonna open up the room, bring in natural light, and set the perfect vibe for my cars, bikes, vinyl records, and photos. The space is...

Made it this far, and yep, the ceiling beams had to come down too. The plan now is to even out the ceiling height across both garages and replace the old beams with new ones. Once that’s done, the whole structure's gonna be a lot more solid and built to last.

Mhm, the old ceiling had to come down—no way around it. But it’s all good, because it’s getting rebuilt with way better craftsmanship this time around. Taking the time to make sure it’s solid, and when it’s done, it’ll be stronger and built to last.

Yeah, I’d rather do it right from the start and know it’s all sorted. It'll take longer to fix, but I’m not stressing about the time. The real goal is getting it done right the first time.

Ended up going deeper than planned, but I'd rather do it right now than have to come back and fix it later. Better to handle it all at once than deal with future headaches.

I know. Looking forward to having a new roof so I can proceed with the stuff under it :)

Cleared out all the old insulation from the attic to get a real look at what’s going on underneath. Had to check the ceiling beams and the overall condition of the ceiling. No more guessing—time to see if things are solid or if there's more work coming my way. Sometimes you gotta strip it down...
