    Acid Stain after grinding?

I acid stained the back room in my house....turned out pretty awesome if you ask me. I think the fact that the acid highlights and alters its tones based on the character flaws of the old slab makes it better than what I've seen on fresh slabs. My oly issue is that I've already sealed it and...

    framing/finishing steel building interior

I have a standard detached steel garage (24x26) and I want to finish off the interior with sheetrock and insulation. Does anyone know of a good way to go about this? Before you say "search," I am on my tablet and the search feature does not work...as soon as I get the search box, it...

    3/8 ratchet pump

A guy at work has one of these and they are awesome. I have been searching for any other brands/types of this tool. This thing is absolutely phenomenal and I want to get one, but I use it rarely, so it is hard to deal with the 100.00 price. Does anyone know of anything comperable to it? I...

Best Time to buy a new lawn mower?

Just looking for your typical walk behind mower...though I got spoiled with my last one and now require a self-propelled unit. Good advise on the local repair-ill check it out

Best Time to buy a new lawn mower?

I am in the market for a new lawn mower, and was wondering if anyone on here knew when the best time to get a good deal on one is. My logic says Winter, just because they want to make room for other things so they will discount them.... but... Then again, they may make the best deals in the...

    Ingersol vs Quincy

The warranty is a "buy on". I got it through northern tool, but Quincy services the compressor if it is needed. All you have to do is buy their oil and air filters.

    Ingersol vs Quincy

I just took delivery of my new Quincy. Every review I read on all the big brands said go with quincy-it'll be the last compressor you'll ever buy. I can't give you any feedback as I only fired it up once to test it but I will say that it is the quietest 220v compressor I've ever heard! And it...

    painting your wrenches?

My dealership must be a rare one...while everyone kinda borrows from every one, it is always promptly returned.

    painting your wrenches?

This was a kind of ink or dye that would fill the size engravings and make them easier to read.

    painting your wrenches?

I thought there was a thread that I read the other day that talked about painting the engraved tool sizes on your wrenches. I can't remember the material used. Does anybody know where that thread is?

Help me pick my next compressor

My compressor of three years took a dump on me last night--it was a harbor freight special, but it was all I could afford at the time and it did me right for a while. I know that HF tools are a luck of the draw, but I think I got my money's worth out of the compressor...I ran it at damn near...

For some reason I am reading this and only seeing Harbor Freight...surely that can't be what you mean....is it?

Help me find a good wobble 3/8" impact set!

I am needing a wobble socket set (MM) and I want the widest range possible. Snap on and Mac have 10-19, and then 19-24 sold in seperate sets, but nothing that has the whole range, and I don't want to buy an extra 19! Cornwell has a complete set 8-24 but the low price on it makes me suspect. I...

Making a steel building look less steely

I was thinking about this, because the steel buildings end up being much cheaper (by half almost) and thought that making a wooden overlay with 1x6's placed horizontally to mimic a barn... Every other one of the raised portions of the steel building are, in many cases, close to where wooden...

    Building cost...

Was just curious to the folks that know-- What is the guestimation on price for a new building and rough in for electrical. I know that price will vary from region to region, so best guess is what I'm looking for. Slab foundation, and this building...any guessers...

    Most hated tool

4.5" angle grinder with a cut off wheel attached....eventually, it will catch on the steel that I am cutting and bounce off...break(shatter) and the only thing to stop it's wild spinning is my gut. The reason for this? my knee jerk reflex grip from hell on the trigger when it jerks.

Fiinally showing it off! My Garagemahal

The Camaro is getting the frame alligned and quarters put on. I have done all of the body work so far, and will finish the car, but was too nervous and inexperienced to handle the quarters! And as far as the on-going debate of the plug... 1. Ever had a power strip that takes 6, 9, 12, 18...

Fiinally showing it off! My Garagemahal

The epoxy went down Friday morning. 24 hours later you can walk on it, so we put down a canvas tarp (so it could still breathe) and started painting the ceiling and walls. We finally put cars on it today!

Fiinally showing it off! My Garagemahal

The door opens, so in the summer when I run it, I leave the door open if I run it quite a bit (the top also comes off). In the winter I leave it closed and it never really warms up too much. There is a 6"-10" gap at the bottom where plenty of fresh air gets pulled in. Insulate, insulate...

Fiinally showing it off! My Garagemahal

I quit my job to go back to school...so 6 days is seriously 6 days...about 10-12 hours per day! Class starts Monday, so my free time (approximately 24 hours per day) will go away real fast!
