Ripped edge on Timbertech deck board

I just rout them to match the others, usually an 1/8 roundover matches. Easy peasy.

    Hardwood Costs?

The market will bear what the market will bear. While I don’t think you are out of line it seems cutting boards have become a niche all thier own. With the advantage of CNC routers and lasers in your home Shop, the customization and personalization of common goods is becoming a marketing...

Compact organisable general duty toolbox recommendations

I have two tool punches that hold the tools vertically and have a variety of internal loops, and don’t find either disorganized. My electrical hand tools are all in a clc square organizer that fits nicely in a 5 gallon bucket for storage/rust prevention. I also have a handyman tool set that is...

Bora or Triton router Speed Control remotely?

Honestly, I thought the router speed controls I remember were rheostats to reduce voltage and modern electronic speed control wasn’t compatible with that type of controller. While I understand the intent, I’d probably simply make a chart of the positions to keep topside, full left is ***, I...

Bora or Triton router Speed Control remotely?

I thought the Triton was variable speed. Checked the website and it is. 8000-20,000 variable speed - buy the Triton, orient the vs dial to the front of your table and get routing.

Help me Pick a Table Saw

Of the choices you posted I‘d pick the Ridgid 10” saw. Between the folding stand and the 10” blade I think it best fits your use case. I have a Bosch 4100 with gravity rise stand but it probably takes up more room than you would appreciate given your posts. One of my buddy’s has the DeWalt...

Anyone use a Darwin's Grip for string trimmer?

My problem wasn’t the weight on my arms and wrists. It’s that at 6’4” tall the angle the trimmer head engaged the ground was nowhere close to parallel, so to compensate I leaned forward. Hence the Darwin’s grip images of bent back cavemen. I have two FS90’s, one with the handlebar and one with...

How Are You Liking Your HF U.S. General Series 3 Boxes?

I have a 42“ series one with side drawers, and a 56“ series three. I’ve had the series 3 since January and my socket drawer is loaded really heavy and seems great so far. I’m not a fan of the power tool drawer and charger drawer, in my old garage I hung them on a rack/organizer and used the 42’s...

8" jointer options, older DJ-20 vs something newer?

Older pre-Taiwan DJ-20‘s were solid machines. If you are adding a new helical head I’d stick to at least 1 1/2 hp, but honestly I also wouldn’t avoid a jet/grizzly already the way you want. You can test it at the sellers and see how it does, and not take it home and run It. Jointer prices are...

Is Ridged Drill/Ipact Driver Kit w/ Battery Warranty The Best Way To Go???

I’d say no, it’s not the best way to go. I think you get better tools from other manufacturers and the battery warranty isn’t the magic it seems. I routinely find that my older batteries tend to last until the tools have reached the end of life or a newer better version exists. Ridgid tools...

Who makes a really long DOE wrench?

Tappet wrenches may fit the bill, if the thinner width doesn’t affect your need to torque.

In the market for a sliding table

Sounds like you need a euro style slider. If you’re looking to rip 8’ lengthwise then you should be looking at some rather large ones. Not a road I’ve headed down as, but I’m sure the used market is more attractive than buying a new Felder.

How long to go with the extension collection?

Tool box? Hand carry 3” & 6” in 1/4 and 3/8. 3” in 1/2 drive. In my box box, I have 12” in both 1/4 & 3/8 in regular and wobble, a 24” 3/8 for transmission bolts, and up to 9” in 1/2.

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

Had a great mechanic doing work for a group of us in high school, it was a small shop but the guy was super talented, did everything from high performance work on local drag cars to LOF and inspections. Had a sweet drag car that he worked on after hours. I still remember him telling a group of...

Milwaukee 18 volt for the win. Not the kind of tool worth another battery ecosystem, unless your saving serious money.

PSA, HF Tools is closing out the Bauer SCT...

I have wanted one for years since Eastwood rolled theirs out, but didn’t want to drop the coin on one. Was interested in the Bauer for a while and missed the good sale last summer. Went last weekend and picked one up, had a chance to try it out today and was impressed. Every few years I go...

Why no ICON line wrenches ?

Volume of sales would be my guess? At my HF sales seem to sell down hardline stock, Icon especially. I guess in the scheme of things they sell they would find it more difficult to bring the value proposition in sales to a set of 4 or 5 wrenches.

Any reason to keep this welder?

I had a similar welder that was my grandfathers and was labeled Sears. 50 Amp stick welders cant do much if anything well, so I’d send it along as well. Honestly, the only use I would imagine it would have would have been for an artist/sculptor in the days before affordable mig welders.

    Recommendation on router table

The easiest way to save space with a router table is to sink it into your table saws extension. That is of course if you have a tablesaw taking up space in the floor already. I have a folding Freud one I am happy with, nice fence and stores easily. That said, I do cope and stick doors on a shaper.
