Another odd fellow wrench, I thought home made.. but possibly not

Thanks for the find, so it is not home made. I still cannot see any application as a lineman's tool for twisting wires together. I wonder if the seller was just guessing? I see he listed it as made by Lowell, they are well known for their lineman wrenches... but nothing like this.

Another odd fellow wrench, I thought home made.. but possibly not

OK, this came from a box of tools that were in a garage sale. The rest of the tools were old and good quality brand name USA made. I just tossed this to the side as a home made special purpose item. Later I looked at it extremely well. Very well made with no markings. Overall length 11...

    Kreg Pocket Hole Machine?

Obviously I am not much into wood construction where this would be used since I had no idea what a 'pocket' hole was. The only thing I could think of was a pocket hole was the reason I am always broke. I had to look it up online, the two videos here did little to explain what it was. Learn...

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

Finally got down to doing some not very serious wiping down and cleaning up of items from an estate sale from 3 weeks ago so I could take some photos. 1/2 drive sockets: Plvmb 5432 1in, SK 4082 3/4 deep, Fleet 1728 7/8 deep, BonEcon ZA22 11/16, two SK 40824 3/4 deep, SK 40132 1in, BonEcon ZA14...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

Picked this 620 drill press up yesterday. Also posted in garage sale thread. Motor has been changed to Craftsman sometime in its past. Was covered in wood dust, does not look like it was abused or used to drill metal objects. Missing front belt guard. Has lug for light mounting so not first...

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

Been kind of slow lately. I need to get the items from estate sale from weeks ago cleaned up and photographed but have not done it yet. Just one item from yesterday. Delta 620 from 1930's. Has the lamp mounting lug, so not the first year. Motor replaced with a Craftsman 1/2 horse sometime in...

    Mystery multi-tool, Eklind?

Obviously a give away. I really have no clue as true purpose. I have worked at lacing cables in the power plant, that is a good suggestion for some of the fold outs. As far as Push and Pull. In my career those two words have opened more doors for me than anything else!!! :)

The dilemma of the GJ Mindset

If you make your flag out of stainless steel plate laser etched with the right colors and pattern, you can mount it permanently outside on a sufficiently ridged pole (which you will probably have to purchase). You will have to, of course, probably mount it in a hole with a concrete base formed...

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

Nice looking Sax. Despite the fact that no one in my family plays any kind of instrument, I am still tempted to buy them at garage sales and auctions when they are going for very little. I just like the good ones look, quality and the way they are made. I know it's crazy to buy something that...

    Signed in blood

Yes, we all know, just part of anything we do. I am now at the age that my skin peels easily. Cannot work on anything (and especially vehicles with the tight spaces and edges sticking out everywhere) without some wounds. I like to look at the upside since I refuse to just sit down and quit...

Hello from a vintage tool lover in Australia

Welcome. Don't worry, your hobbies will fill every space you have...and then some. I, fortunately do not see myself as having that mindset (and yes Dear, 43 complete motorcycles IS NOT too many). Sounds like you already fit into this group.

    Snap-on new 'Lifetime" Warranty?

Well dang! I just bought a SO hand carry toolbox from the late 1930's for $15 and the bottom was rusted out from sitting on a dirt carport floor that got flooded occasionally.... You mean they are not going to give me a new one! Shame on them!!!!!!!!! On another note, The 1938 GE switchgear in...

Unplated Craftsman DBE wrench, MDF 'V' marked.

Thanks Don. I read your post when researching this. I have a 1/4 drive set that is Cad plated from the Korean war period. I would have thought the unplated wrench I posted here would also be cad plated if it was Korean war. But possibly not, good idea that it could have been then.

Unplated Craftsman DBE wrench, MDF 'V' marked.

These two Craftsman offset Box end wrenches came in a garage sale lot. They are both identical design and both marked with the Moore Drop Forging 'V". However, one is plated and one shows no sign of ever being plated. I took the pictures outside and used a flash so there is some reflection on...

    What is this old Tool?

No Idea. Just looking at it, the piece that looks like a wide chisel blade looks like it folds down and around and ends up just under the J hook. The chisel edge is angled so it would be straight parallel with the rest of the tool in that position. The J hook looks like it is fixed to the T...
