    Woot: Rollbox Collapsile Tool Box

It does have that hole, but it's really there to keep honest people honest.

Arrived: Woot: Rollbox Collapsible Tool Box

Just got mine in a few minutes ago. No detached hinge, though there is a thumbnail-sized area where the paint started to peel. I'm guessing from the labeling on the box that these boxes were originally bought by Amazon, they didn't sell so Amazon passed them along to woot. They must've been...

Anyone else have an outside workbench

That's a pretty nice design! I suddenly know what to do with all those scrap plywood triangles I kept all these years!

Mine is supposed to be here on Wednesday. I hope it does better while in transit than yours did.

    Woot: Rollbox Collapsile Tool Box

You might be able to get the box through security, but none of the tools inside would make it! :)

Proposal to install a beach webcam

Just a couple of thoughts. Child ***********. All it takes is the camera capturing a 13 year old whose top fell off in the surf, your creepy new neighbor who has access to the site posts the picture on a site of questionable repute. Security. Whatever you do, don't use FTP. Use any of the...

    iPhone garage apps

I got a flashlight app that turns on the camera's flash... and there's that sound meter... and I use "convert" an app that converts from one measurement to another measurement unit e.g. km to inches.

Anyone willing to measure compressor db

This obviously isn't a 30 gallon one, but just to give you a data point: I bought this one, then returned it a couple hours after getting it because it was too loud. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-8-Gal-Portable-Electric-Air-Compressor-TA-2530B/202564847?N=c27pZrd#.UXF6LoI8x3R Here's the db...

Anyone else have an outside workbench

I screwed a piece of plywood onto a palette, then added some 2x4 legs... throw a tarp over it when not in use... it's worked out pretty well for me. I use it when I'm rattle canning something, or grinding/sanding. I create a makeshift jig by screwing wood blocks right into the plywood, and...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Built 2 sawhorses out of 3"x4"x3/8" and 3"x3"x3/8" steel because I didn't trust the flimsy pressed sheet ones I bought from the hardware store. They're not as light, and you can't really adjust the height, but I trust them 1000% more.

Better to leave welder on or turn on/off?

I usually leave it on until I'm done for the day. The sanding/grinding is done elsewhere so dust isn't an issue in my particular case.

Strong Hand Tools - Welding related

This would be nice to have, just can't justify the price. http://amzn.com/B0021JR9N4 I also have their on/off magnetic ground square. It's convenient when I have something that I can't get my regular ground clamp on e.g. tubing that's had the ends closed up.

Strong Hand Tools - Welding related

I have that magnet. It's good for quick tacks of small things, but it's not really big enough for me. Lately, I've been using it not as a square, but as a benchtop metal shaving pickup tool. :D

    Work bench legs?

There are a couple "show me your workbench" threads that are really good. Me personally, I'd use 4x4... or 2 2x4's as legs.
