What are some ornamental grasses that grow over 6FT tall NY 5B Zone.

Anything grown from a rhizome is likely much easier to ship as a dormant rhizome rather than a growing plant, and you'll have better planting success. Much like dormant bare root trees compared to a tree that is already green and flowering.

What are some ornamental grasses that grow over 6FT tall NY 5B Zone.

Yes, I bought rhizomes from them as opposed to clusters. I think I order a 60-pack of rhizomes and split them up 20/40 for two different spots. I removed the sod, tilled a row as wide as the rototiller, and planted the rhizomes 2-3" deep. I watered when I remembered but they're quite far from...

What are some ornamental grasses that grow over 6FT tall NY 5B Zone.

I don't have any pictures but if you click on the Maple River Farms link above you can see it grown at different stages. Good company to order from. Ours have been here two years and they're about 7-8 feet tall in the one row near the woods and 5-6 feet tall in the row up near the garage...

toolant plier wrench,35$ for 3pcs set!!!

I can't speak to the brand posted above, but I have a few Knipex pairs and haven't touched an adjustable wrench since I bought them. If the pliers wrench won't work for some reason, I'm grabbing an actual wrench, not an adjustable.

What are some ornamental grasses that grow over 6FT tall NY 5B Zone.

Giant Miscanthus Grass. Grows up to 10-13ft tall and unlike other Miscanthus varieties, it is sterile so it will only spread via rhizome division. I ordered rhizomes from Maple River Farms two years ago and they're doing well. Mostly as a division and visual screening from parts of the...

    Workbench Top Material???

Other than my welding table, my other workbenches are 3/4" plywood with wood trim raised slightly around the edges, so a sheet of hardboard drops right in as the finished top. A couple pin nails tacks it in place. Easy to remove and replace when it gets too dirty or banged up.

Magnetic Chrome Sockets - Do They Exist?

I have a set of these that work well enough. Makes any shallow socket magnetic, but won't work on deep sockets.

Drilling and mounting to Concrete ?

Agreed, Tapcons are junk in my opinion. We only use Hilti screws at work. You wouldn't think there'd be that much difference, but there is. Never snapped a Hilti.

Ever buy something you didn't expect to use, but use it all the time?

MegaPro 15-in-1 security screwdriver. Bought it for myself because I didn't want to have to bring out a case of different bits when I needed a security bit. Then I got a job where I use security bits every single day and I bought a second one.

Is you garage shop to far away from your house?

About 40 feet from our porch door, or 20 feet from the basement exit. Either way, it's too far in the winter. I really wish I had an attached garage for a workshop and a detached garage for vehicle and equipment storage.

    What’s your favorite snow shovel?

Those SnowPlow shovels really are the best. We have a 36" and a 48" at work. Expensive, but if they last a large chunk of your life while the $25 shovels wear out after a season or two, they're really a solid investment. I've been meaning to buy one for home - maybe the 36".

Metabo USA now fully Metabo HPT

I guess it was a long time coming. Back in 2018 I bought the Hitachi 18V framing, finish, and pin nailers on sale at Lowes as they prepared to stock the Metabo HPT versions (identical tool, different label). Got them all for a steal and still use them all the time.

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

Milwaukee M12 heated hoodies and Axis vests on a Daily Deals sale today, decent prices. Just ordered myself another vest for work. The last one lasted 5-6 years and died when I was wearing it under the truck and rolled, must've pinched or broke the wires in there somewhere.

    Storing your "one-offs"

Inspection mirrors in the toolbox drawer with calipers, magnetic pickup tools, claw grabbers. Plumb bobs in a box on the shelf with 4x4 post level, mason line, line level, etc. Large pipe cutters hanging on wall with pipe wrenches. Tubes of grease with all my other cans and lubricants - top...

    Ground pin up or down?

Only one correct answer there - the original patent shows it over the top.

What is the attraction of Hammer Drills

There's a reason they're always on sale. Looks nice on paper, but they're never a great option. My 10-year old M18 drill is a hammer drill and I think I've drilled two holes in concrete with it. If I need to drill concrete, I'm using my SDS every time.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

After clearing up the rest of the snow with the tractor, I had to replace a broken shear pin on the snowblower and lube the plunger and bolts for the chute deflector. Put the heater on for a few hours to melt off the snow as I always do.
